Opinions on Kilohearts The Works?

With the ongoing The Works sale at VSTBuzz, I am curious to hear about opinions on their products and "snap-ins". Checking out some reviews online (there are not that many), it seems the bundle gets some good scores, but I rarely, if ever, see people recommending this.
SO! What do you KVR'ers think about the full collection, do you get a lot of mileage out of it (is the interface/workflow in Multipass good or bad)? How's the general quality of the snap-in effects? Any feedback would be great. I'd obviously love to try the demo, but unfortunately I won't have access to the PC that I produce on before the sale is over.

If you already have an effects suite, this will very likely fill in some interesting gaps. If you have no effects suite, this is a comprehensive selection that will serve you well and them some.
The effects are compact but pack a lot of of thoughtfulness. The delay, for example, has the expected delay time with sync option, feedback, and mix. But it also has ping pong option and input-based ducking! Distortion unit has several types, drive, bias, spread, and mix, but also a dynamics control based on input hotness. All the dynamics plugins/snap-ins have sidechain.
Cool, unique effects include a formant filter that uses an X-Y to choose the filter, which is great because related vowels and phonemes are near each other. There's niche stuff like a tape stop. There's basic utility stuff like a gain control. I really like the bitcrusher since it models both DAC and ADC stages. There's creative stuff like the reverser. I use the pitch shifter often for shimmer reverbs. There's Disperser and Faturator which are pretty unique against competitors.
But what really makes it shine is how it all comes together in Snapheap or Multipass. Now you can modulate all these effects. Take the bitcrusher and reverser and make them react to envelope follower. Now transients can get extra bite and amplitude sweep up. Then stick the trance gate on it and get some stuttering going. If you're a creative sound designer you'll really enjoy it.

+1. I like kHs individual plugins, but they really shine in the Multipass. It's a very creative tool.yellowmix wrote:But what really makes it shine is how it all comes together in Snapheap or Multipass. Now you can modulate all these effects. Thanks, excellent feedback and just what I was looking for! From a quality perspective, would you say that the individual snap-ins are comparable to similar, more expensive VST alternatives, regardless if they're more meagre feature-wise?

Save ya money!
Do you really need more stock plugins? I only ever buy a new effect if it's radically different in sound than everything out there and certainly everything I own, like Zynaptiq plugins. Its about sound.
If you think you need a rack bundle like soundtoys and kilohearts then changes are you need to master using fx chains in your daw with the shit you already got.

Yep. This is why I dig FabFilter for contemporary effects, Slate for emulations, and Zynaptiq for specials. Don’t knock Soundtoys and Kilohearts though, they’re pretty special in their own right.Kinh wrote:Save ya money!
