I hadn't heard "Deeply Dippy" before, and I was reminded that Chumbawumba, which most people remember as a one-hit wonder for "Tubthumping" also had another song called "Amnesia" which got some radio play.vurt wrote:right said fred were not one hits wonders
deeply dippy and im too sexy, that's at least two!
Gerry Rafferty is not considering a one hit wonder because in addition to "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line" was also a hit. That song didn't do as well as the first, but what if it charted a little lower?
Then you have the case of Semisonic, who is labeled as a one hit wonder for their song "Closing Time". However, "Singing In My Sleep" was a hit in the UK as well. So they are a one-hit wonder in America but not in Britain?
You also have the case of long term acts which might have gotten a lot of play on radio and sold albums but never had hits. For example, at the time "Touch of Grey" was out, I remember a DJ saying that this was actually their first "hit". (I realize how awkward that sounds considering the band in question). If so, that would make the Grateful Dead a 1HW!
