I am considering getting an android tablet. Is there any advantage to get one with a resistive screen over the capasitive? Will midi or audio or any apps benefit with the resistive screen?

I forgot which is which, but there is cheap touch technology where the app thinks your finger is half an inch from where it is in reality. Just avoid that.

That comment tells me it's not what you wanted to hear.

Now I'm sure it' the resistive screens that work flakey. Good enough for an ATM screen with just three buttons per screen, but suck at really precise control. Even in a no-flying zone, capacitive is what most people prefer.

I didn't even know there's still resistive touchscreens. Isn't that obsolete technology since capacitive touchscreens? As far as i remember, the very first smartphones had resistive touchscreens. I haven't really heard of devices having those for years.

Resistive screens work by actually pressing on the screen. If you're using some kind of pen with it, it can be quite accurate, but if you're just using your fingers like on modern smartphones and tablets (with capacitive screens) it will be a nightmare. Things like moving faders or turning a knob in audio apps will get you frustrated every time because the screen will most of the time not react the way you want it to.
So my advice: stay away from resistive screens, especially for audio related apps.

Thanks to all for your input.
