For me personally; separate tracks and a midi file would suffice.

It's posted now so if other people have ideas on this :)

I was thinking the one by one concept (like the game-threads) gives some surprising results, but anything's possible at this time I guess 8)

Midi file

This is going to be lots of fun. The midi file sounds HORRIBLE without the right sounds & synths loaded

i'd say one person at a time, unless we end up w/ less than 20 songs :p
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Hence it will be handy to have the separate audio-tracks as well....

A one-by-one sounds fine ;)

I've split them up and grouped them into 7 files. They are all mp3 with offset at zero (may contain empty spaces) to make tming easier.

The mp3s are 3MB each. Let me know if you want them in 16bit Wavs (They are 31MB each).

I dl the mp3´s and see how the quality is after backwards coding to wav.

Not sure whether I even could contribute something to all this, but I just wanted to mention:
MP3s are BAD for collaborations!
Why? Easy: They will add a bit of silence in the beginning of any audio file, no matter how carefully you cut them!
As a result of that, lining them up properly will become a tedious thing, especially in case the audio material doesn't start with some clearly noticeable attack (let alone a bar or so of silence).

So, what to do about it?
A) Use count ins, played by some easy identifyable click. Still requires some fine adjusting though.
B) Use WMA or OGG. Those simply won't add any space to your file, so knowing "file starts at bar 5" is sufficient, not further adjustments required.

From my own collaboration experience I can only tell you that it gets TRULY annoying when dealing with multiple files in MP3 format.

There's free OGG/WMA de- and encoders for any platform. For Windows I cannot recommend dbpoweramp enough. Does everything you need and integrates nicely into your right click menu. Just install the required WMA/OGG codecs too.

I'm thinking it might have been a good idea to work out what everyone was doing and when, before they started doing it...

:? :help:

Let's try to save everybody's bandwidth a little it by having one person doing the mixing in high quality and everyboy who contribute put up their trax at mp3 and wav.

I will PM Mystahr tonight with links to the wav files after uploading them.
