Notorious complainer ?
A customer who has the right to point out that their are issues, strange how it is almost personal for the Tracktion brigade when i do so, on the other hand, am i a serial complainer or you a serial fanboy who scans for Tracktion threads to act superior in ?

Yes, a notorious complainer. You know perfectly well that there's a Tracktion forum and other methods for pointing out issues, for alerting the Tracktion people to problems, yet you opted to air your complaints on a general forum where more non-Tracktion users would see it and where fewer Tracktion/Waveform users would come across it and where you knew the Tracktion company would be far less likely to see it. You know perfectly well, and we know perfectly well that this thread has been an exercise in you - yet again - trying to sully the Tracktion brand. That's low, even by your standards.

Perhaps you meant to share this rant with the Notator User Group on CompuServe.

For the majority of us on this forum, x64 DAWs are the norm. :P

ROLI investors and commercial JUCE licenses, probably.
Where did you get this idea from?

I just logged in and checked.

All you have to do is click on a Waveform bundle and the option to upgrade to Waveform 9 appears for $59.

Ok, I agree the website is not configured to the optimum, but hardly difficult to do.
It works now... it has been a few days ago when I received their promo e-mail as I had tried it...
perhaps it also depends on the browser and mobile vs. desktop. The site is really crappy either way though.

Although this thread is kind of... well, feral for lack of a better word, I think Tracktion has some serious issues that are at their core, a problem of developer focus.
Developer focus has always been (from v5) on new features, rather than a solid, stable platform. They've never achieved that. I'm blown away by simple bugs that would've been found with a bare minimum of usability testing, even with the later versions. It's surprising.
I used to be a massive fan, but I feel sorry for whoever's working on it. It's just not getting better.

Not true. Waveform 9 has improved a lot over the previous version. It's only $29 for the latest version upgrade to continue supporting product development. It's not my main DAW, but I like the unique features it has, and am mainly using it for the creative tools.

The entire team dev team is something like 2.5 programmers, so I am sure they have a lot on their to-do list.

It's not like Tracktion is a mega corp with unlimited resources, so it is understandable that they must prioritize the biggest issues first. Funny thing is I have not seen any showstopper bugs in version 9. Due to the various ways folks may use the program, I am sure there are some corner cases to be found, but overall this is a solid release. It is up to v9.3.2, so it has already had a number of free feature updates and bug fixes issued since initial release earlier this year.

I am not claiming that they are perfect, but in all fairness, there is evidence that they are trying. :tu:

So, let me get this straight; you find a software issue but don't report it to anyone who might be able to fix it.

I need add no more.

I sadly have to agree with you.

I always upgrade when it comes on sale, in fact I have just upgraded to version 9, and I have tried using it for a few days. But then the inevitable crashes started. Plugins that work on other DAWs with no problems bring down Waveform,or refuse to show their GUI. Its such a shame because it has such potential. The number one priority of all DAW developers should always be stability. I just wish they would stop adding new features and get the thing to stay up for more that half an hour on my machine without locking up.
