I'm going to be brave and be the first to name my primary DAW in the thread itself, which is REAPER.
My solo projects:
Hekkräiser (experimental) | MFG38 (electronic/soundtrack) | The Santtu Pesonen Project (metal/prog)

You can still do it, and close this one. Might be better, if you want to avoid getting suspected of doing a market research program.paradisebunny wrote:Oh, didn't know that was possible. Will do next time.

apparently when i started using reaper i signed up for participation in a war i did not know existed, and by which i am constantly irked.
reaper is fine, other daws are equally fine. some tiny features are different between all of them, but the importance of those features depends on personal workflow and comfort level. in some DAWs the accumulation of universal inconveniences might mount up that some can be called objectively worse, but I think that no DAW can actually be called objectively the best and anyone who attempts to prove so without a 5-year research program involving careful monitoring, control groups, double blind testing, etc, is on a hiding to nothing, especially since people of equal and opposite conviction will be ready to butt heads with them at every opportunity.
just be civil and have fun and maybe learn something

REAPER 0.999 for now.
REAPER 6.0 when it arrives (with updates good up to version 7.99).
So yeah, at some point in time, my chosen DAW for life will be stuck at REAPER 7.99.

I strive to standardize and learn one DAW but end up playing with multiple ones and changing frequently
