I think it's rated a 3.1 right now in the App Store . Social media feedback has been GREAT, lol. The mods over at reasontalk completely deleted 2 Reason Compact threads because, well, it's reasontalk and their motto is 'Can't bite the hand that feeds you'.

Yeah, good job Hanna. LOL.

Yeah. Like. It's so much different on this site. :)

I'm sure people were really well behaved in those threads. And that there was absolutely zero to close them, apart from censoring unwanted criticism. Mmh, yeah, so likely. Especially knowing the conditions there.

This app shouldn't be released this way, but of course people will spend money on it for what they hope it might become, and Propellerhead banks on that foolish spending. Never do that, by the way. Pay for what IS, not what a developer says is coming. As is, this is below underwhelming. It seems to be the early beta fruit of that investor we heard about months back, and this is exactly the quarter-baked, "social networking", gimmick products I was worried would come from their influence.

Read the post I quoted.
If you need more explaining, don’t ask.

So you answered my "or what" part of the question.

now this is not addressed to you.

To all those who bring up the "it's free, just chill out" excuse - stop making excuses for them.

Thanks.

I see you still don’t understand.
That’s fine. Just don’t post anymore.

I absolutely do understand. But if we're going there, then it sounds to me like you don't understand music (Soundcloud), so maybe you shouldn't make music anymore.

Yeah, nice burn.
But please, tell me what you understood.

I did think that was a rather nice burn thank you, and I chuckled as I typed it.

However I am done with you, and Propellerhead should be done with Verdane telling them who to hire. They don't need any more Hanna Astrands.

Post

Ah. The "I don't know what I'm talking about, so I'm done with you" post.
Classic. I chuckled. No, really.

Gentlemen, please consider taking your intellectually stimulating conversation elsewhere or keep it private.

Back on topic, commenting and/or discussing Reason Compact, I'll add a little context to my previous positive statements about this product in this thread.

Having enjoyed the Europa synth since it came out, I've used it extensively both in Reason and in other hosts as a VSTi for sound design purposes. Years ago, when Thor became available for my iPad, I had a real boost in my sound design activities because of the availability of Thor wherever I went.

With Europa now also being ported to iOS, although it's not the full version but a limited one, I find myself picking up my iPhone and launch Reason Compact for sound design, editing 8 bar chord sequences & melodies that I can instantly sync with Reason 10 (via the new iOS11 built-in Files app which is also installed on my desktop computer running Reason). So, another productivity booster right there.

Every new product needs to start somewhere, with small steps forward and with everything open for improvement. For me personally, the staff @PH (hipster or not, and whatever gender) seem to be very relaxed and creative people. And I think Reason Compact has a lot of potential for boosted productivity and inspiration as a slice of Reason in the pocket.

The mods locked a thread because some people don't seem to be able to possess the rather basic ability to offer criticism without acting like it's the end of the world and attacking people. The mods did their job. And let's be real: attacking employees of a company just because you're not happy with the product delivered is just a cheap shot. Other threads were deleted because the same people seem intent on sowing the seeds of discourse instead of offering constructive criticism and remaining civil.

I'll say this much: I don't envy the job of mods there or here at KVR. You people have to wade through a ton of crap more often than not.

But, back on topic...

^^ This guy gets it.

Let me be clear: I have a ton of criticism for Reason Compact. Only 1 synth. An extremely limited sequencer. The lack of drums at launch was simply a bad move, IMHO, and IAP's being broken the first 24 hours didn't help their case. D'oh!

BUT... the direction they're going with it makes complete sense, IMHO. It's easy to use - and for its intended purpose - on the go on your cellphone - they couldn't have been more right. If access to other instruments is as straightforward and easy as Europa is in version 1, they might very well have a hit on their hands, or if anything a good companion for Reasoners to bang out quick ideas on the go.

I don't think people are being realistic if they expect a complete mobile production environment on their cellphone.

Well, I just downloaded it and I can’t login with my propellerhead account.

Apart from that I’ve got no gripes with PH efforts to make money. Definitely a cool way to do it.
