Equator isn't interface software, it's an instrument

I think it simply works as I put it. Cubendo will turn all MIDI input into Note Expression, leveraging MPE from here.

I presume you have it figured it out now, so I am posting this in case someone else reads this thread.

My understanding is that two things are required to fully enjoy the MPE experience.

1. A DAW or host that supports MPE.
2. An instrument, such as the one you just mentioned, that supports MPE.

That's a very good and succinct walk-through of how to set it up.

I had that already but got confused by reviews of people that didn't and I guess I had looked at too much that day and mindlessly conflated that with 'Equator'. Google was my friend here.

The ROLI Seaboard controllers come with Equator Player, a lite version of their instrument, it turns out.
Beyond this, 'MIDI as Note Expression' can be used with VST2 instruments as well as VST3 (I had got the notion, from around, that to use Note Expression, which is VST3.5 tech, you need VST3 instruments); Cubase/Nuendo leverages that so long as the MIDI input is set to 'All' (& omni in the plugin instrument).
IE: ROLI Seaboard as well as Linnstrument sends MPE, MIDI Polyphonic Expression on specific channels (you don't need to worry about this) and so omni in means the instrument isn't changing anything.

If I had the money I would be having a hard time choosing between ROLI Rise and Linnstrument. If had the money for both...

I'm very close to pulling the trigger for Block, though. Seaboard Block.

So I did the thing.

Roli Rise or Block in Cubase or Nuendo - experience with?
