I can sense sarcasm there... well, if you make all my SCSI samplers and MIDI hardware work with Windows 8 or greater I will buy you a pizza and a beer.

I've been into this even when windows were really only windows.

And I'm actually being serious. Very.

This is catering to ITB producers only.

It cuts down on their customers enormously. I don't know anybody who uses anything beyond W7 for music production. Maybe one, actually when I think about it...

And yeah, actually I've been thinking of acquiring Atari STe for MIDI [again] for years! The MIDI timing was superb!

I use Win 8.1 to make music. I have lots of hardware connected over midi (and usb). I ditched my SCSI samplers around the same time as my Atari. Way too much hassle (for me). I do think its unreasonable to expect developers to cater for XP. There are people making music these days who weren't even born when XP was popular.

Good for *you*!

Not so for thousands of others who have their studios working 24/7 for years and years with all the same hardware and software and like it that way. For me upgrading to W8 just because 1 [average] developer asks for it is just ridiculous. I'd rather ditch the developer at any time because other 1267 plugins are working both on XP and W7.

So you think that's good?

Besides, compiling it to be compatible with XP and W7 especially is just stupendously easy. If so many of other developers can do it, they can do it.

Eventually, you're going to have to upgrade because something stops working
or is impossible to fix. Whens the last time you tried to use win 95? You
can barely even surf the net with XP anymore. Unless you have some mad
skills in electronic engineering or are competent at writing windoze device
drivers, your days with win 7 are numbered, period...

No I won't need to upgrade the Windows OS. I'll use OS-X instead, or Linux rather than upgrade Windows. I'm actually using Mac OS already on another PC for music, so I won't miss out on new plugins, and Linux for browsing. You think I'm so stupid I would browse the Internet from Windows?

Besides, I wouldn't use a production OS to browse the internet as that is just completely irresponsible.

I know much more about compilers than you think I know, and much more about operating systems and hardware than you think. I could set you up with a really great audio workstation PC for a miserable couple of Ks.

That's my fee. You pay for the PC.

Linux has made some great strides, but for me, it still has a long way to
go before its completely viable. OSX is a better option, at least until
Apple decides to put an end to the hackintosh community. Which they
could do very easily.

Sadly, unless one can afford to shell out the coin for a nice mac, windoze
will remain a necessary factor of life for most. More power to those, who
can get by without it.

Regarding Win 7 not being supported, I use both the free FuzzPlus 3 and Roughrider 2 in Win 7 and both work fine, even though both are listed as Win 8 only.

Not sure I'd shell out for a paid plugin to see whether it might work which is a shame because I quite liked the look of Phosphor 2.

Just bought this on sale today from PluginBoutique, sounds really good, however I do wish the GUI resizing can be saved and that the presets were accessible whilst the parameters are available to be edited, and not in an entirely separate page that needs to be opened and closed..... like dubstation2 where the presets are in the middle of the one gui.
