I was indeed hoping spiking would be fixed in this update, which I applied two days ago or whenever it came out.
I just tried it.
I am now able to export audio with three pa plugings that I had to give up using.
This is very very hopeful.

And after avoiding PA stuff in use for almost a year (although I keep buying them..smh
) I have a simple four track audio project, using four instances of PA SSL E and G.....spiking is surely back. disabling those plugins spiking goes... substituting those SSL for UAD ones, spiking is gone.

It's been over two years, so maybe there were some changes for some users regarding CPU issues. Perhaps someone could post updated information about their "adventures" with PA plugins. I've just spent last two hours trying different scenarios and settings. Yes, I did that some time ago but wanted to try new ways of avoiding CPU spikes. They are still present and are ridiculous. I gave up for the time being. No more ideas.
