I love the white/blue one, it think it's going to be my default skin. The red one is nice too, reminds me on Virus B

Will the 1.5 update come only with the new skins or also with some other things announced earlier (glitch FX? formant shift osc FX? vowel filter?).

And will it be a free update?

colours are frequencys too and the original GUI got me somewhat off

The additional post-effects (Glitch, MB Comp, etc) are coming on an extra update after the skin update. But there are a lot of other new stuff that comes with the GUI update like a bunch of new osc inserts (yes, also the formant shift) and the osc draws all inserts in realtime, so you can see what the new inserts do:
