Just wondering....have a fair few surplus type A USB cables here and a fair few 1/4 jack guitar cables.
Looked online but surprised not to find anything...can I chop off one of the jacks and solder on a USB plug instead so as to plug my guitars directly via USB into my PC to record ?
I have found out the what 4 USB pin conventions are but what from the jack connects to what of the four usb pins and would it work ?
Thanks

Guitars output an analogue signal, USB is a digital connection. You're going to need an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) somewhere in that chain, and something that actually talks USB.

you might get some good advice in the diy forum if you want me to move this thread there?
