Two tiny recent additions. I'm starting to run out of places to put things (had to move the Roli to make room for these).

Are we in your boat? In that case it could be cool with a more distant view that shows some of the cabin too. Actually it could be cool if you posted a picture of your boat too. A thread-stretch maybe, but it is your “studio” after all so...BONES wrote:Two tiny recent additions. I'm starting to run out of places to put things (had to move the Roli to make room for these).

I'm always dressed as a pirate!

That's not a box, it's my brand new IK Uno Synth. It doesn't sound as good as the Rocket but it's at least as much fun to play with.thecontrolcentre wrote:Looking good BONES. What's the box on the bottom left?

looks like a nice compact rig, all where youd want it for the stage? which i guess is best practice really for gigging musicians.

The day I allow a non-band photo of me onto the internet (or anywhere else) is the day you officially have permission to shoot me dead.

Hey, what is the viewing angle like on this when laying almost flat ?
I just ordered a 15.6 hanns.G but it is only viewable almost vertical.
A real shame because it worked multi touch with an android TV box and I was gonna run TouchDAW on it. even got ethernet midi working but the touchscreen is crap so going back.

I too like them a lot. If pine wood is ok than these can probably be got for free from a typical wood selling firm. At least in Sweden these are sold in 45*45 mm and wonky ones are just discarded of.herodotus wrote:Thanks. In the next few weeks I intend to fill all the space between the ceiling and the panel tops with them.thecontrolcentre wrote:I like the diffusers. Very cool looking.
And they're cheap, too. Just glue and cedar 2×2s mounted on some fiberboard I had sitting around. The whole set costs less than 40 dollars. The biggest investment is time: I am using manual tools, and it takes hours to cut and sand it all.
Then it's simply a matter of cutting them with an electric saw in various lengths. I am sure one could build an entire wall of them in a weekend, entirely for free. Why not paint a third of them and make cool random patterns. It would be fun too!
My "studio" is actually a small wooden cabin in the garden, so I am surrounded by natural pine (walls, ceiling, floor) and the totally green nature outside the windows. Very inspirational! The irregular wood gives such a harmonic atmosphere.

It's mostly this compact for the boat, although I probably wouldn't have this much stuff on stage because it takes too long to set it up and pull it down. The Maschine Mikro, for example, hasn't been plugged in for at least three months now (I bought it for all the software that comes with it) and I'd never even consider it for a gig. When we start rehearsing again, I'll set up everything and whittle it away until I'm left with the one or two synths that do the most work.vurt wrote:looks like a nice compact rig, all where youd want it for the stage? which i guess is best practice really for gigging musicians.
Honestly, though, I'd be perfectly happy to set up the Roli and do everything ITB. The rest of it is just for show and to make me feel like a real musician when I'm up there. None of it, even the Analog Keys or Ultranova, sound anywhere near as good as DUNE or Vacuum Pro or TRK-01.

yeah that is true. its been a long time since i did any live work (i was most often on the desk and set up, i played the odd event, mainly art exhibitions...) so i forget about all thatBONES wrote:It's mostly this compact for the boat, although I probably wouldn't have this much stuff on stage because it takes too long to set it up and pull it down.vurt wrote:looks like a nice compact rig, all where youd want it for the stage? which i guess is best practice really for gigging musicians.

do you find you get every sound or is it a more stripped down live sound?
or do you go "its a bass, its close enough" and not worry about exact replicas of sounds?
if next time your back on tour you hit the uk, ill have to make the effort to get along. (don't worry i will not take any sneak photos or expect any photos of me with you, im not big on the whole images of me thing either)
ditch everything, get a keytar!Honestly, though, I'd be perfectly happy to set up the Roli and do everything ITB.
