I saw the list of new Cubase SX3 features, and the only one I'm really curious about is Arpache SX. Does anyone have any information on this yet?

Arpache is already in SX2 (maybe even SX1, I don't remember). It's not too exciting but still useful for some basic arpeggiated lines...

Does somebody know about other (free) mfx plugins for arpeggios?

It's called ARPache 5 though in SX. It was in SX 1. I bet though it came from Cubase 5. Sounds like it's an updated version of it. :hyper:

The MFX that are installed with the Sonar demo worked when I tried them in SX2, but that was a while ago so I don't know if the MFX from the newer versions of Sonar will work.

I just read the specs for Arpache SX from the manuals downloadable from the Steinberg site. I'm very interested in something like this, but not $150 worth of interested.

Can someone clone this?

I've noticed a general oversight here at KVR in covering MFX and the like (arrangers, stylizers, notation software, ect). You can do a search under effects and check midi fx, but it only turns up about 4 hits. Certainly there's more out there than that!

The SX3 manuals are here, Arpache SX is detailed in the MIDI_Devices_and_Features.pdf

EarthTones, I don't think there are any MFX in the database, only VST plugins that output MIDI.

Hmmmmmmmmmm..... wonder why such an oversight? I guess MFX aren't considered plugins???

BTW check this out http://www.ntonyx.com/jmt_orch.htm - pretty cool

I'm familiar with the other ntonyx products; and was just thinking the other day how nice a plug-in form of their stuff would be.

Awesome find.

I would like all the MFX plug-ins converted into VST Midi FX so I can use them in energyXT.

I would really like some of those MFX plug-ins but don't have a host that uses them. :(

MAybe this could be of help to someone? :

Cakewalk® MFX wrapper version 1.08 for Cubase SX.

Cubase SX allows you to use 100% Cakewalk FX-compatible MIDI plug-ins in realtime on any MIDI track. This is accomplished with a wrapper.dll that "translates" the MFX plug-in for the Steinberg MIDI plug-in interface.

Download the new version of the MFX wrapper and extract and place the dll in the "Components" folder in your Cubase SX directory.
