Did a quick search and found some info on Griff from www.planetgriff.com. Has anyone tried this or anything similar on a PDA with success?

There was some talk of a PDA FL Studio step sequencer as well but I couldn't find anything on FL's site.

I'd like to know peoples opinions / experiences before I download any demos.

Griff's the main one, although its (somewhat) possible you'll find some of the Linuix stuff may have been ported for iPAQs and the like.

There's also a few odds and sods have come out for GameBoys, (which obviousy arent PDA's) and the new GameBoy DS looks like it'll have enough grunt for some interesting audio stuff (despite not being a PDA)

Try phoenix studio from meloditronic.com
In my opinion sounds better and is cheaper than Griff.
No midi export as yet.

thanks for quick responses. I like the look of this Phoenix thing - downloading demo now. It has to be for PDA since I just got a new iPAQ h5500 from work and I'm only using it as a glorified diary / news-reader (although it's got a cool golf game on it). Thought I might as well try and get some use out of it.

There's also PocketJam for PocketPCs, saw it recently at a friend.

I'm sure I saw some other apps as well, might be those were developed by demoscene people and aren't available for public (but they weren't that interesting, as they were more tracker style and thus not exactly suited for so small screen).
