"Pleasure" huh? :'(
Sorry for the joke, had to pay it too :(

For me it says on the FastSpring Checkout page:
Total €30.99
Includes VAT €4.95 (19%)
(German VAT)

Not recommending people do this, of course, but if you install a VPN and use, for example, a US server to make your purchase, it would be, in principal, hypothetically, as a thought exercise, but don't really do this, possible to pay $29 without the VAT. But don't. It's naughty!

I do this all the time, if I have to pay VAT, no sale

In fact quite often a VPN is not required, I just enter a tax free country and zip code, keep the rest of the address as per reality

Here's a video I made exploring the effect of Cont Color (advanced) using Plugin Doctor. Sorry about the sporadic knob turning but there was too much load on my macbook pro and turning the knobs was difficult especially for the lower end bands.

It's interesting to also look at the dynamic charactistics of this tool!

There is no audio on this video :phones:

That's fine, I wouldn't want to encourage you to do something you weren't comfortable doing. Do remember though that a developer that uses a third-party payment processor never sees or has anything to do with the VAT anyway, that's down to the payment processor. A company like EndeavorFX will see their $29 whether you pay the VAT or not. And if (IF) you were to find a way of not paying the VAT, it's down to the payment processor not the developer.

My favourite devs are the ones that charge a price that includes VAT if you're in the EU and it's the same price if you don't pay VAT because you're outside of the EU. Hornet comes to mind, his plugins are the same price whether you pay VAT or not (eg $30 including VAT or $30 with no VAT). Paradoxically, you could argue that because Hornet absorbs the VAT, he will see more money from a sale if you avoid the VAT!

Listen, the VAT on a $10 plugin is trivial for sure, but for a $100 plugin, or like IK, a €160 PLUS VAT plugin, it starts to get very expensive. My pet peeve is certainly with IK who advertise all their plugins without VAT. €160 plus VAT takes it up near to €200 which is quite a lot of money. Thank goodness there are US resellers who are a) cheaper than IK and b) don't charge VAT.

This plugin is not what it appears to be. :phones:

The GUI is starting to make sense to me now. The GUI is a collection of different knobs from different devices. That's what the plugin sounds like to me: not just a saturatator. It's more like a non-linear dynamic saturation EQ tone box. :phones:

UPDATE: I am going to buy this plugin. It's just too weird not too! :hyper:

UPDATE UPDATE: They are using one of the worst ecommerce providers when it comes to coversion rates. I ended up having to pay $31US (in CAD) because they have to take their cut. that's an additional 7%! Please consider changing your ecommerce provider.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: you get 2 iLok activations. That's good. At least its 2! :phones:

From EndeavorFX on GS:

"We have a few announcements!

We have decided to extend our August sale through September! A lot of people are still discovering Contemporary Color, and we have one more update coming up, so we thought it was only fair to continue the sale!

We are planning to add a "Fan Skins" section to our download page. A few artists have reached out to us with some very impressive skins they have designed (including overdriiive's awesome skin posted in this forum) and we will be happy to make them available to everyone!"

for me this is the plugin of the year!
