Perhaps from a layman's point of view, yes, that'd make sense, but it then also fragments the product range, where only one has a feature all others don't, additional software/hardware support, etc etc etc.

Wow, kontakt 6 and massive x surprisingly don’t interest me at all. I might not update to K12U after all. Don’t care about a wavetable thing in kontakt. I thought there would be more interesting kontakt developments in all that time.

That's right. Anyway, what do you think about Mikro MK3 ($249) for someone new to Maschine ecosystem? I would love the bigger display of Maschine MK3, but the price is more than twice, so. :)

Post

Yeah, well, the "micro" is really a good introduction into the world of Maschine, yes. That's why they made it, I'd assume. :)

I really love the original Massive. One of my favorites. My hope is that Massive X would be a solutions where I could use all those wonderful sounds on the original on a new, bigger interface.

Alas, my hopes have been dashed.

Post

In case anyone cares, the two new Massive Expansions that aren't recycled from older stuff are only available in Ultimate Collector.

Yes, but I was asking particularly about the MK3 model. From the looks, it looks much better than before and is stripped down version of Maschine MK3. I will look at it in detail, but I am already hoping to get it this Black Friday. :)

Loopop has you covered:

The Kontakt 6 GUI looks not really good. The same 90´s style still.
Massive X looks better. Not sure if it´s worth for me to upgrade to Komplete 12 for €199.
Maybe i wait a bit and make the usual 50% off update offer they will have some months later.

Post

Hm, i just realized they have a new keyboard series, starting from 149 €. :o That's great news.

Actually, almost certain now that i get the A49.

Oh and for all of you clamoring about K6 GUI. The team is painfully aware of that. It is also painfully not easy to modernize it from 15+ years old codebase with oftentimes strange dependencies. It will happen eventually, and likely in stages rather than all-at-once overhaul, but not at K6.0.

So Massive X will have a Gorilla mode :D
