This song is without beat and form and everybosy can basically follow teir noses. However as it was Mystahr's idea to pick this one, let's have him as "producer" and give the instructions and directions. If he needs extra percussions etc, let him call for it and then somebody can just stick up their hands, or maybe we can have a few "auditionng" for the required part.clueless wrote:I'm thinking it might have been a good idea to work out what everyone was doing and when, before they started doing it...

I wouldn't mind hosting this and the changes through time; how where or what will happen through time
I wouldn't have a clue, but since the goal is to have 8 to 12 people have their hands on this there's no telling what the endresult of this will be. That to me makes it only more interesting

send me track wavs of farmers if you got em.. or at least a small box of quality street and my polaroids back.
(sorry)
vurt - did you get th files?
idea: this is free-form, originally, idea to pass one track serially between a dozen? no 50! (heh) people for remixing (transfers aranged 'tactically' so no rules) but if people want to run in parallel.. i was just thinking it'd be good to do a bunch of tracks that have the stink of many hands on them since we are able.

i'm up for this... i'm not sure i understand the mechanics entirely but from what i understand it would seem that we are aiming to have many of these on the go at once ? if thats the case does anoyone who's interested (but not currently involved in a song) want to pm me and we can choose the tune to remix and work out the logistics.
if i'm completly off base with my understanding... can someone let me know what to do next (cos i'm a bit thick sometimes)
cheers,
steve.

sounds right.. 'objective' would be to eventually have some collection of songs that share this dynamic, so whatever it takes to get them there.. a couple of methods have been discussed but keeping 'guidelines' open.. if a bunch of fl people want to send fl files to each other, that works for them.. maybe the last person can send me wav tracks
pick your own song and offer it, ask someone else for their track, do a standard..

cool, so i'm basically on the right track then...
i'll happily offer any of my tunes if anyone wants them
and have pm'ed a potential collaborator about a tune.
let the fun and games commence.
by the way, good idea, collaborations with k-v-r guys are always fun and this should get a lot of people involved
cheers,
steve.

so anyone can give anything to anyone else at any time? and the choices can be as arbitrary or specific as we like?
think I've finally got it now!
one thing - how about posting each 'stage' of development, and letting contributors choose whichever one they want?

right, have spoken to phil (wopelka) and he is happy for me to use one of his tunes as the basis for the remix thing (or potentially be a collaborator, depending on his time constraints at the moment, in which case we will have to choose another tune) i guess we now need some more collaborators so if anyone wants to get involved drop me a pm and we can work out how exactly this will work and who will do what.
clear as mud
i hope i'm going about this the right way
cheers,
steve.

clueless - why not? different direction from objective of creating one discrete multitude-derived listening collection, but would make a great accompanying dealie.. or perhaps the final variants could be combined at some stage
blaster - i never really stated it emphatically, but i guess i see the ultimate objective as being to create audio that has many minds.. i consider a good song as resonating within perspective (individual over time, and/or between individuals.)
my assumption was that a sequential progression of manipulators would make for facilitous enactment.. i was conceiving sort of a 'considerate amending' by each participant. take it in turns, do what you think is right for the song w/o treading too much.
parallel, or pre-coordinated production didn't occur to me, but it did to you.. as such, my guess is you're either more interested or more comfortable with the idea.. and how productive would you be if you weren't enthusiastic, so yes!
again, maybe to some i'm being too open about this.. since people have responded, i will have a go at being strict about momentum if warranted? deal
