The perfect system seems like it would be one that let you see all targets affected by a mod source or all mod sources affecting a target.
We already have that visually, just not in a list form.

Would it be sufficient to put that list view in the visualiser screen, replacing the scope display if you hold down ALT when you mouse-over a control or mod source?
Personally, I would prefer one list showing all modulations on the visualiser screen, that you can sort on mod source or target. Tabs will probably be necessary; so be it.
If you want all targets modulated by a mod source together, you sort by mod source.
If you want all mods sources modulating a target together, you sort by target.

A ALT-hoover is a pretty hidden feature (you'll need to read the manual  ) and you need two hands to perform that action. If you are playing the keyboard at that moment, you'll need to stop.

For example, if you're playing a patch, and look at the full mod list, you could see e.g. that aftertouch raises the resonance and try that out. In your system, you would need to stop playing, alt-hoover over a control or mod source to see the modulations.

With a full mod list I could e.g. also see at the same time that there is a free running lfo which is simulating drift, modwheel opens the filter etc...
(For MPE replace aftertouch and modwheel by their respective properties).

My 2 cents....

Yeah... a full mod list is what is needed. See Bitwig for reference. Bitwig's inspector shows all active mod sources and their target. The list can also be displayed to show all targets and their sources. You can edit ranges right there which makes for super fast tweaking of related parameters.

Also, rather than in the visualizer, how about in the browser area via a tab so one can switch between browser and mod list... about twice the amount of room there! If the list is longer than the window, it should scroll.

i still have the problem if i load cypher 2 into a ableton 10.3 live set with 32 channeltracks full of synth plugins and if substitute one synth with cypher 2. the cypher 2 gui is very slow when i move parameters, especialy i have long lag if i switch presets.
with strobe 2 same problem, other synths don't have the problem

Post

Curious, does it load fine in a smaller project with less other plugins?
I am wondering if it is an fls issue or no.

what OS are you on? mac or pc?

it's on win 10 64 bit with an 6 core i7 5820k 16gb ram 970gtx

On bitwig i haven't this problem. I opened 18 instances on ableton and bitwig and on ableton I also got the screens lag

Yessssss!!

Just played around with cypher for an hour or so, ran just fine in protools. Thank you for the quick fix.

Also.........MY GOD...... the brass patches on this thing are scrumptious

I am also a dcam user and purchased all of Himalayas expansions for it and when I saw he was behind a good chunk of cypher 2 sounds it was an instant buy for me

Great stuff guys!
I'm Kinda a big Deal

Yeah, Himalaya’s stuff is amazing. It’s also extremely flexible. He doesn’t tend to stick with genre-specific sound libraries. They pretty work for everything (cinematic, dance, IDM, electro, whatever).

I don’t have an mpe compatible controller but my novation does have after touch, ive always found the FXpansion synths to feel very organic and alive and cypher 2 is VERY expressive even with a traditional controller

It’s got me looking up seaboards.........

Not good :help:

We're aware that the GUI can lag a bit in some situations.. particularly on high dpi displays and at high magnification. It's just moving a lot of pixels!

Ultimately the answer is to switch the GUI over to be fully hardware-accelerated, but that will take a lot longer - this update was just to fix the most critical things and a couple of easy-to-fix minor annoyances (for example, the tooltips are less oversized and less blinky now).

I'm trying to work out if there is a way of getting to the effects from the easy screen (without going to the edit page) I'm finding usually there is a bit too much delay on many presets so I'd like to turn off the effects and just have my standard delay/ reverb in my DAW.

Didn't realise I could use my Cypher 1 patches with it, is this true with Stobe 2 and S1 patches?
