what about support for 24bit audio cards instead of just support for higher sample rates.

How about built in latency compensation so things like the TC Powercore and UAD-1 don't have latency issues.

I have noticed in 4.5.2 that my M-Audio 2496 ASIO drivers are listed twice. Actually now that I think about it, so are the WAV outs and the other one (HW I think?)....I am at work so can't see my screen. I can send a screen shot if needed. I recently updated my drivers, so it's hard for me to know which version(s) I have selected in the menu, when there are copies.
Wasp XT for the record has been running smooth as glass.
KVR, my adult playground.

AFAIK FL supports them since the beginning

I mean support for 24bit recording and mixing. i bought an emu 1212m and i can't get it into 24bit mode at all, just 16bit 192khz max. Am i missing something?

Thanks

Post

i dont get it.. those cards are always IN 24 bit mode arent they??

I have the emu1820m (basically similar) and it runs fine in FLstudio.

if they were, running wav files at 16 bit wouldn't work, na i think they default to 16bit and you have to select 24bit mode, can anyone confirm this?

Post

Fl will support 16 and 24 bit wavs no matter what bitdepth your sound card is.

Post

i know but i want to RUN fruity at 24bit, why doesn't anyone think this is important? argh!

Post

possibly because it isnt important? all internal audio of FL is 32bit anyway, why would you want to downgrade to 24????

Post

as far as i know its not a downgrade. For example, if i record from the fruity mixer something i created with a softsynth it will record it at 16bit, not 32bit. You can try it yourself. Select 96khz in fruity and then record some audio using the mixer and it will record it as 16bit 96khz, nowhere does it record out as 32bit and definitely not 24bit, the reason for buying this card, i might add.. Unless someone can really explain what this is all about i will keep saying that fruity is 16bit and this 32bit "mode" is confusing and i don't know what it means.

I'm not talking about the exporting options, i'm talking about recording from the mixer and the bit depth run within fruity.

Post

Fl studio supports 24 bit recording- Though since I dont user FL for multitracking I dont really know if you need to change any settings to record in 24 bit.

Post

i hope so but i can't work it out, and I've used fruity for years. I really wish the audio engine was just "better". I do want support for running fruity in 24bit and to record, playback and render out in 24bit.

Can anyone explain what int32LSB is? When i select my ASIO driver it says the following: Status: open, set to 44100hz, int32LSB, 1x2 outputs, 7x2 inputs available

thanks (sorry for stealing this thread for a little while)
