Neither did I until I was pointed in the direction of it by vurt (to answer his question above). Seems to have been quite a low key thing really. It's a little bit cheaper than the ebow, and (crucially for someone as absent minded as me) it turns itself off after a few minutes if you haven't used it!jancivil wrote:innarresting, didn't know there was anything elsedonkey tugger wrote:I had one around that time too, but sold it to buy a Boss HM2 I seem to remember.jancivil wrote:This one is an extraordinarily powerful design. I had an eBow back in 1990, it was a bit wild but I got on pretty well with it.![]()
Anyhow, recently bought one of these;

It's probably that I've got much better guitars now, but I'm finding it a lot more controllable than I ever did the ebow. Loads of fun anyhow.

My best results were achieved by installing Fernandes Sustainer on one of my old Ibanez guitars around 2008. The harmonic sustain was like playing in front of cranked amp.
Two modes:
01Harmonic Mode:
Within seconds, the pitch of the ringing note(s) will rise to the 5th natural harmonic.
02Natural Mode:
The note(s) will continue to ring its natural fundamental tone as long as the string(s) are free to vibrate and the Sustainer System is on.
Later sold it and still regret it.

Yeah, say three slots for input gain and gate settings of different guitars would be really nice. The boss GT-10 floor fx does this, was very handy live when switching to a backup guitar with different pickups.EvilDragon wrote:Yeah that makes sense. You'd want input config to be constant all the time. Or in fact, have presets for it (different noise gate setup, input gain, etc) depending on different guitars you're working with...

Really, it should have any number of presets for this, in a dropdown menu, which you can name by the guitars you have.

it was a lot of fun making this one!
Guitar Only

No EQ, no compression. Just two amp instances.
And a little room reverb from Reaper.
Cheers,

“I did learn that Marshall amplifiers do that sound best. No one else has come up with anything quite like them. You have to know what you are doing. If you don't get the right combination of guitar, player, head, and cabinet, you can spend hours not quite getting it.” Tony Platt

Bought, cheers! Really liking the sound
Here's a bug for you though: In Reaper, when the oversampling is enabled, there's a nasty delay when seeking while playing back.

yep, Caliburn has that AC/DC amp in spades... it sounds like AC/DC even though i'm using a superstrat
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Actually it's not a bug. It needs time recalculate to the initial state.Eleventh wrote:Bought, cheers! Really liking the sound![]()

But when you export the sound with oversampling like 8x, all samples are processed during the export process.
Maybe in the future updates it will be possible to recalculate them faster.
bmanic, asked for even higher oversampling settings! So...we have to deal with that.

Ah ok. Anyway, that delay makes oversampling completely unusable in a live project; I'd rather have a dropout in the sound tbh. I appreciate that it has that "pre-render" enabled, because when rendering, some other amp sims completely skip the initial transient when you have a note right at the beginning. But in my opinion this solution is even worse. Could the plugin differentiate between render and real-time seek? Or at least an option to turn this behavior off? I can always start the render a bit early, but I really don't want to have that delay when skipping around in the project.dimitar wrote:Actually it's not a bug. I will forward your input to the development team right now.
Hopefully a quick solution will be found for real time live playing in a band situation asap!
Cheers,
Dimi
