Their sales are confusing, their upgrade paths are incomplete, but their products are mostly great!
Examples, I upgraded to the O8N2 bundle and it's a great product, I really really like Tonal Balance Control, just a great idea well implemented. Caveat, there is no rational decently priced upgrade to Music Production Suite, and at $599 it doesn't include the latest version of Vocal Synth. Izotope don't seem to acknowledge how close to completion of the Suite you might be, I own Ozone 8 and Neutron 2 advanced, Trash 2, and RX5. It's going to be much cheaper for me to get the upgrade to RX6-7 here, and add in Vocal Synth 2, Nectar 2 in the future if and when they go on sale, completely going against the whole point of bundles.
Ozone 8, RX5 and Tonal Balance Control are all top notch products though, I can't deny that, and it's just a matter of being smarter with your purchases from them than anything else. Honestly for the most part bundles are not what I would do with them, because they don't give much of a discount on upgrades from bundles, but everything else is normal price wise.

What the heck are you talking about? Most, if not all client have registered their products, i. e. established an account with the mail.omac wrote:This actually isn't the company not caring how it markets. This is a rather common problem. It's caused by either the customer database not being updated or not having enough details of customer transactions in the database. Well, sometimes not even having a database of customer order details. I'm sure the company would love to send specific offers tailored to each customer, but if your database doesn't have that information or it isn't easily retrievable then this happens.
I've had this problem with several companies where I felt if they'd send me offers for what I needed rather than what I already had I'd probably buy something. I won't list names here, but there's a couple of companies where I own everything but one thing and they never send me anything related to that missing plugin- not in at least two years. I just delete the emails. But yes, they could save some cyber trees by not sending them at all...
They have ALL the information in their database they need to target their marketing messages.
What the iZotope lacks, is the customer care and intelligence. Lazy b------s.

What would some of you do with yourselves if you didn't have something to complain about?

What about making music?Russell Grand wrote:![]()
Nah, iZotope is awesome. KVRians just love to complain. What would some of you do with yourselves if you didn't have something to whine about?
But Kvr is a "hobby", where as the music - for you, too. And I think that Kvr is great, for sharing information and keeping the bull---t sellers on their toes. If I had to give up either iZotope or Kvr, I would get rid of the iZotope.

Would that actually work?shidostrife wrote:
I believe this is the case with izotope. Sometimes it benefits the customers (for example, I have upgrade offers as if I have ozone 7 standard, while I actually only have ozone elements).
And I agree, iZotope is an insult to marketing automation. Although I know the hurdles in monetizing data, they don't even seem to have the basics in order
Still...easy enough to unsubscribe...

It does. It worked for me. Also read here that izotope themselves say whatever offer you see in your account, mistake or not, is fair game.evilantal wrote:Would that actually work?shidostrife wrote:

Harry_HH - There is a very big difference between having entered the information into company files and being able to conveniently access it in a useful manner. Having the information is very different from being able to use it for marketing purposes. Working with company databases is one of the things I've done in my job. A database can be useless for marketing purposes by something as basic as filling out the forms by first name and last name. If the customer name is entered in your database in that manner it's amazing the amount of work you would have to do to correct it. There's also the possibility that you can lose/corrupt customer data in trying to correct it.
The amount of companies with databases that are not accurate/useful is ... pretty much most of them. They use what they have, but the accuracy is not 100%. I keep old emails/receipts for years. I've had to use emails a couple of times in the past to prove that I purchased a product.

I happen to work with automated/machine prospecting tools, too.
I don't know how "conveniently" iZotope should be able to implement the marketing, but the client mail and the products purchased should be easily available for them.

Every single time I fire up Iris 2 my blood pressure goes up for a moment, but I still like and use it a fair bit anyhow and I sure wouldn't want to miss Neutron, Ozone 7 advanced and Alloy 2 - excellent products.machinesworking wrote:Their sales are confusing, their upgrade paths are incomplete, but their products are mostly great!

I do both - even at the same time. No problemo, even men are capable of multitasking...jancivil wrote:masturbate?Russell Grand wrote:What would some of you do with yourselves if you didn't have something to complain about?

I recently upgraded both Neutron and Ozone from Elements to Advanced for much less than normal, when they had a special offer on last month. I wouldn't have known about it but for the 'spam' emails. I just glance at them and delete them if they don't apply to me. I would add that even logging into my account and looking at the "upgrade offers" wouldn't have told me, as these offers weren't listed on my account page - I had to email their support, who very quickly made them available.
Izotope are far from the only ones doing this. Arturia often send sales emails about things I already own.
Just to clarify on RX6/7 - I bought RX6 Elements over a year ago, will I qualify for a free upgrade, or is this just a fishing for new customers offer?
