Alright, so I'm listening to the Archers of Loaf's amazing album "White Trash Heroes", and I'm realizing again how insanely great they were. But I bet I'm one the only people on KVR who's heard of them.
And that's a crime.
So here's the deal: The Archers of Loaf were an indie rock band of the mid to late 90s from Chapel Hill, North Carolina... Equal parts Replacements, Tom Waits, and Sonic Youth... Their three full length-albums are all brilliant, and their live shows were guaranteed to leave you shaken to the core... I'd put them in my desert island collection in a second.
Anyone else want to share their favorite criminally-unknown artist?

Kiss it Goodbye
"Kiss It Goodbye is a New Jersey hardcore quartet born on the ashes of Rorschach (guitarist Keith Huckins, drummer Andrew Gormley, bassist Tom Rusnak) that relocated to Seattle in 1996 and enlisted vocalist Tim Singer. She Loves Me She Loves Me Not (Revelation, 1997) updates Roschach's sound to the age of grindcore and death-metal (Helvetica). The EP Choke (Revelation, 1999), with new guitarist Demian Johnston, was their swan song."
Dead band, but very, very good..EXTREMELY heavy and painful Hardcore..The singer came from another killer band called "Dead Guy"..

Sigh is a progressive black metal band from Japan. (Progressive in this case means they'll go from a Venom-type riff to reggae at the drop of a hat. Hee.)

Souled American.
No question.
Imagine the best country songs you ever heard, played by a bunch of drunk guys with a bass player who thinks he's in a funk band.
They're *that* good
Seriously - one of my favourite bands of all time and yet no-one seems to have heard of 'em. Even Mrs. Scuzzphut likes them

David Cunningham (ex Flying Lizard)
And Archers Of Loaf sound almost the same ingredients to the sound of a group called Deus?
Must check out these Archers tout sweet.
