Probably too powerful, complex and scary. The most likely reason is, that Steinberg is not capable of writing an non technocrat version of a manual, and none of the specialists either...
But hey, it is worth to look at. I am happy to not have missed their recent sale which probably was the only one since a decade...

No, the reason is that buggy, unreliable e-licencer thing...

Dunno about that. Halion always appeared to me as aimed at a pretty special audience. Just like Falcon. Just not for your every day customer.

If the eLicenser really was the problem, it would be a problem for Cubase as well.

All those mentioned are very good. There are always several interesting synths floating Around from NI, like Razor, Skanner, Form ( amazing imho), Even older ones like Photone and Carbon. You really could make music with Reaktor stuff alone. The interfaces sometimes can look overly complicated but they are mainly very easy to get on with.
unfortunately i am undisciplined and suffer terribly from GAS. :)

@martin
I don‘t have a single dongle in my machine. As I reject Avid, there is no need to. Maybe you point to problems of the past...

I have to disagree with you 100%. Synth1 (IMO) is an excellent plug, free or not. :D

Take a test drive with the Synth1 Librarian from Neutrino Sky, and you will recognize the amazing breadth of sounds possible with this synth. Using the librarian, you can browse your entire collection of Synth1 soundbank zip files for sounds that match your search criteria based on tags. You might just discover something you have overlooked! It's free too! :tu:

Awesome, thanks zzz00m! I'm going to search for it and check it out this coming weekend! :hyper:

You can find it here: https://neutrinosky.com/

He is planning to also do a similar librarian for Dexed, a free emulation of the Yamaha DX-7 synth, which has a bazillion free patches available online. The challenge is that a good database engine will be required to sort the bazillion patches. I'm sure it will be awesome!

Meanwhile, the Synth1 librarian will give you a whole new way to explore the sounds that have been created for it by many talented users. :tu:

How about the AIR stuff:
Hybrid / Vacuum / Xpand?
Seems to be used (and sold) by many and discussed by few... :hihi:

You have to run the installer .exe that installs the Windows dependencies for C++ and .net. If you are missing those, you will get a crash.
