I noticed this forum is mostly for DAWs, so if there is a DAW that can accommodate this please let me know!

For the record, I am not a DJ so I'm hoping someone out there is knowledgeable on this topic...

Basically, I'm looking for some DJ/playlist software that will take a library of curated songs, and automatically beat match/sync the bpms to create seamless transitions. Simple crossover blends are my current solution (itunes), but I'm looking for something that feels a bit more professional instead of standing behind a laptop all day... is there any DJ software that I can set my songs to "shuffle" and then have its algorithm take over?

From what I've seen, Virtual DJ seems to be in the neighborhood of what I'm looking for, but is that overkill? I don't necessarily need a lot of functionality as I want to do as little interaction as humanly possible.

I greatly appreciate any help or feedback if someone can point me in the right direction!

I'm pretty sure Traktor can do that. Haven't used it for a few versions ... mebbes overkill for your needs.

Perhaps there's an LE version.

VirtualDJ can do that , check out this video. Even in their free version i assume (don't really know coz i have pro). But basically , you drag your files or playlist to the automix window, arrange the files by bpm or whathever and the algorhythm takes over. You can even choose a few automix options also if i remember correctly (lenght of fades, etc - that small button beside the automix icon)

Thank you for the replies!

Yeah, I was looking at Traktor as well but was leaning towards VirtualDJ. I wasn't aware that there was a free version. I will check it out later once I get back from work. Thank you for the video link... looks pretty close to what I need!

Cheers

Have you tried Mix Meister ?

100% Virtual DJ. You can get the basic free version if you don't need controller support. You can later upgrade to the features you need.

I've tried em all and VDJ handles playlists and auto mixing better than any of the others. I use it for 10-20 weddings per year for context.
