My nomination is Cap'n Jazz. Teen emo band from the early 90s. Supercute post-hardcore without the tweeness that seems to be round today. You can get double CD of all their stuff on Jade Tree.

Must check out these Archers tout sweet.

Make sure you check out Crooked Fingers, too, fronted by ex-Archers singer Eric Bachman. His voice has gotten growlier since the Archers days.

As for great unknown, my vote goes for the Nihilist Spasm Band.

seen em a couple of times... the eeeemo scene is about all we got around here for a few years. I'll take the previously-mentioned Dismemberment Plan or Braid over 'em in a heartbeat.
