sorry bout the bunnies. It seemed to fit the candy apple red. btw I'm not a twat. a skinnable fruity would be kinda cool, but I don't think it is entirely necessary.

You must be kidding about the skins. FL has been skinable (to an extent at least) for years.Anonymous Shadow wrote:sorry bout the bunnies. It seemed to fit the candy apple red. btw I'm not a twat. a skinnable fruity would be kinda cool, but I don't think it is entirely necessary.

I had a little brother who was skinnable. Frankly, it was a bit bizarre.
Also he could produce turds in a variety of formats.
One day he went to school with pink hair, orange eyes and red/white/green tartan effect skin. The other kids beat seven shades of shit out of him.
My parents never loved me so much, because I'm not skinnable. But looks can be real deceptive - fact is, my little brother was a useless tosser.
I've been trying the FL demo and I think it looks and sounds excellent. I'm very tenpted to get that credit card out. With or without skins.

I'm of the opinion that they should burn the name Fruity Loops, or anything associated with that name (including "FL") so that the music community no longer associates this awesome application with the what it was at version 1. I've really grown to love the software, and I've grown to completely hate the name, even now, because it completely belies what FLS really is...a legitimate pro sequencer. I know there are some marketing strategies involved with keeping that association, but I'm quite certain at this point the program can stand on it's own. I predict that the respect level for it goes up 150% once the name is changed.dexters lab wrote:don't know if the future holds a complete write over of the FL Studio Sequencer? i don't know but IMHO
Fruity Loops should of kept it's original name untill the day came that the sequencer was re-written and then re-named as FL STUDIO you could of still sold both.
kept up the minimal updates to Fruity Loops all the while creating a monster incognito!
but hey It's not my coding so what i think won't get to far...
great Software though
Sorry about the rant

but tell me what does good music have to do with the name of the machine/program you used to make it?
if it's good music it's good music!
if it's good music it's good music!

I uninstalled all drivers for my sound card, then rebooted. found new hardwear yadda yadda yadda. Installed newest drivers from m-audio, then started fl studio. picked ASIO on the prompt box (came up because I uninstalled drivers so fl studio didn't see any loaded), rechecked settings in fl studio, still copies of each (ASIO, wav out, h/w 1/2 I believe)....

I agree with you 100%. However, and you might be shocked by this, there are a lot of people in the music industry that I've come across who believe that certain software sounds better. These people believe that if they sing or rap into Nuendo, or ProTools, or DP that their track will sound better. That's just the way it is...it's perception. They perceive users of these applications to be professional, others amateurish. So all I'm suggesting is that a new name is a new start, and perhaps a change in perception.dexters lab wrote:but tell me what does good music have to do with the name of the machine/program you used to make it?
