will someone also be able to (ab-)use the sampler for just using its effects , for example , on an audio track ?
if not , it's maybe worth a thought about.

yes, the sampler will have audio in(s), but not in the first release. It will be in one of the following sub-releases

If not to be able to use it as an effect, you can probably console yourself that an audio track is nothing more than a big sample. If the sampler supports streaming audio I wouldn't imagine you'd have a problem.

OK - probably not what you were really asking for - but still the option could well be there.

By the way - if we can't have the sampler for the moment, can we have some more amazing teaser mp3 files showing raw files converted into audio magic? I really enjoyed them.

just a thought, but if the sampler is going to have audio inputs, does that mean it might potentially have the ability to 'sample' in the traditional sense? if it's automatable by midi notes, all the better

This would kick serious ass if it could sample like a traditional sampler but with a twist, during playback.. live! Also, maybe make it possible to assign specific Midi keys for Record, Play and Stop! That would sooooooo rule for live and experimental composing!

That sounds cool, but I think I'd rather have all that funky recording ability in the sequencer rather than the sampler.

You could create a new arrangement in the sequencer hit the new "record jam" button and it would record all the midi input and audio input in a totally new arrangement.

Then select another new arrangement and try again.

Afterward you can combine the best sections from your jam - whether from real-time playing or by triggered audio and midi parts into a final arrangement.

I think all the live stuff in the record/play/trigger/loop/erease/reverse/etc....should go in an expanded version of Performer...so one can use the Performer in every context ...midi Part/audio Part/sequencer/sampler/etc...
modularity...modularity...modularity...that's it

i like the sequencer a lot for studio production/composing...but to me is too rigid for live stuff..
but if a 'Performer' could be linked to that..MAGIC

. Nice to see you here too. Just bought Energy XT the other day for it's potential alone without even messing with it that much. I just love inspiring software.

The funniest thing ever: Two developers of software with huge potential share the same name (well close enough atleast). Jorge(n)!

(try to guess the other one. I'll give you a hint. It's NOT synth edit).
