You guys also need to have a more visible minimum value velocity marker, Iv just spent 15 minute chasing a mysterious note that turned out to barely be even visible on zoom function let alone regular grid, I thought it was a ghost in the machine but for some reason it just wasn’t at all visible in regular view and I missed it a couple of times in zoom till I made the plug in full view on my bigger 2nd monitor

Ok so figured out how it randomly got there, if you’re using an Apple Magic Mouse the smallest of movements on the mouses surface adds notes on the sequencer if the cursor is above it

My rough count of the presets was way off, wow.
The sample import is not a deal breaker at all, just to clarify. The included sounds and the modulations this thing comes with could easily land you on most of the sounds you're going after. The variety that is included covers most needs that I can imagine. I just think that applying the DD treatment to sounds that were already in my collection could be fun.

Absolutely right. I don't miss this feature eiter. You can do almost everything with the DD. If I wanna use other samples I can layer them using a second chanel and modify it with tools in the DAW.UnWorldly wrote:My rough count of the presets was way off, wow.

Anyway, UVI you could integrate it in a future update?!

Just testing since some minutes.
At first I had some thoughts that the synthesis was only intended as an additional layer to the samples and you do not have so many possibilities with it. No! Alone with the synthesis, so many things can be done that you can create drum kits on your own. Of course, the drum designer is meant for layering with samples, but first of all the synthesis by itself has to be right. If this would be only intended to sculpt the sound minimal, the tool would not have made sense to me. Although I am just at the beginning, I already realize that the possibilities with the DD are infinite. Really super useful tool!
But please consider demo versions for your products in the near future, so I do not always have to worry about buying something wrong!

I went for this, and its got a lot going for it. I'm going to have to really use it in anger to see if its a real step forward in terms of workflow, my jury is still out at the mo.
A few early questions / issues:
Decay. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't make sense of getting a (say) nice decay / release on a low tone for the kick. There's a global decay, there's decay controls for the individual kick elements, and a length control for the tone. No matter how much I fiddle with all these, I can't get a (say) 2 second decay, it just kinda falls off when the defined length runs out.
A few library gaps. At the very least, I'd say the 808 and 909 are core essentials for ye olde EDM. We have here some 808 snares and kicks, and 909 snares. But no 909 kicks. That's mildly perverse. Ultimately, accessing their own Classic Drum Machines samples for example would be very handy.
Simplify. This is the greatest control invented in all percussion machines - a busy / simple control. Stylus RMX and Toontrack EZD2/SD3 have it in slightly different forms. This would be golden in Drum Designer, on a per-part basis. I like that you can change the pattern on each part - this is great, but it's pretty much just blindly searching for happy accidents. Aside from manual input (across 4 different pages), there's no way to strip back or busy up, to refine something that's in the right ballpark.
Undo. Yes, this is sorely missed.
But there's a lot of good in it too. It's more rounded already than Breaktweaker, for example. The library is - a few gaps notwithstanding - good, and the architecture ditto. I hope UVI do not follow iZotope's wretched example, and see this as a product to build upon.
