Can somebody explain to me the fascination with Boards of Canada around here? They are literally the dullest band I have heard EVER... and that includes Simple Minds!!!

If you're judging by their latest two releases ("The Campfire Headphase" and "Tomorrow's Harvest") I would tend to agree. However, their earlier stuff is pure brilliance, IMO. Especially good is the unreleased A Few Old Tunes 1&2; check youtube.jacqueslacouth wrote:Can somebody explain to me the fascination with Boards of Canada around here? A well-behaved signature.

And I love electronic and ambient music.

Hmm, I have just given a Few Old tunes a listen and I have to say, it hasn't swayed my opinion, still sounds like absolute gash to me.
However, doing a little reading, I didn't realise they were a Scottish outfit. It has always disturbed me, as an ex-pat Scot exactly how boring I have found Scottish groups over the years...maybe has something to do with living in that bloody miserable, grey, dreary climate.

Nooo. Boards of Canada (which I do not know but have seen mentioned so many times related to soundsets) are actually Scottish ? That's it.jacqueslacouth wrote:However, doing a little reading, I didn't realise they were a Scottish outfit.
Cheers.

Yep. Demo sounds great, but I´d also suggest a slightly lower price while not being a long-term established sound provider (yet). Personally, I´d take that leap of faith for an intro price of $25 (or wait for a sale).Julien Unison wrote:A little too expansive but nice sounds !
