Every time I bring certain audio files into Cubase, it transposes the file down. This doesn't happen in my other DAW's. What am I doing wrong?

Accidental duplicate.

You wrote "certain audio files", which implies there are loads of other audio files that don't exhibit this behaviour. If this is right, we need to investigate what's different in those audio files.

What is the sample rate of the audio files? And what's the sample rate of your Cubase projects?

Maybe the audio files have a different sample rate than your project?

Check out the project pool windows and what is imported and how it differs from files going alright.
Both sample rates, tempo and time signatures are there as well as if musical mode or not.

Menu Project -> Pool.

Anything to do with that files contain info on tempo and default in Cubase is to have new tracks get Musical timebase?

Thinking that Cubase sense tempo is different in audio file than project - I remember StudioOne do that a lot, writing tempo into files that caused issues in other daws.
