We still haven't established the 'best' way to do it, but are working on a few strong recommendations, for example setting a minimum and maximum value on each knob with right click, prior to grid assignment. Any suggestions that you feel would work for you are welcome.

is V2 a paid upgrade?

The suggestion to have only one license per machine came as a recommendation from iLok when asked what the “industry standard is”. It did not come from me. I’d like to think I’m being responsive and fair on the board. If a customer emailed me with a request to install on two machines I’d be happy to grant it. It doesn’t serve my interests to have a customer purchase a dongle to simply be able to install on two machines. I’m imagining if you’re already legitimately using all the plugins you mentioned perhaps you have a dongle? In which case you’d have no problem installing Zone on numerous machines. In any case, when I run the next batch of serials I’m happy to set the machine count to 2.

Yes I agree. I am going to try it out on my Windows 10 laptop today. Last night I noticed it only had one activation, even for the demo version. So I had to deactivate it on the desktop this morning (it's not working for me anyway with Cakewalk or Sonar X3 and Windows 8.1) and I will try it out with Windows 10 and see if it works for me. Anyway, I think at least 2 activations would be better.

That decision hasn’t been taken yet. There will definitely be a free interim upgrade adding more lane modification tools, presets and workflow tweaks.

Hi Examigan. Please can you send our support an email? support@audiaire.com so we can look into the precise issue? We've successfully tested in Cakewalk on Windows 8 with no issue.

Hi. If you wish to use the iLok installer you do not need the dongle. Just a free online iLok account and License Manager. If you wish to install on more than one machine you will need the dongle, which allows installation on multiple devices. I personally don’t think the user experience is as bad as many make out, especially compared to some major manufacturers. Of course with iLok License Manager you can run multiple account authorisations, not just Audiaire.

If you simply don’t wish to deal with iLok, head over to Splice and grab a free Rent to Own trial for 7 days. If you like Zone you can rent to own for $9.99 a month, cancel or pause at any point, and every payment goes towards the overall cost of owning Zone.
Hi Not sure if you answered my question directly, but maybe you did :)
I have iloks and not opposed to it like some around these parts.
Some ilok license allow 1, some 2 and some even 3 authorisations which mean you have install them on as many ilok dongles for use on more than one computer. I have two computers that I always try to keep in 'sync' as much as possible and don't move iloks/license around between them. Then I imagine if I bought zone I would have to buy it twice correct?

Yes I have the dongle that lives in the back of my DAW PC in the studio- I never take it out! The other device I make music on is a MS Surface, just the one USB port and it would be messy to use the dongle in it- In reality almost all of my licences are on the 'soft' licencer' for hat reason, the soft licencer lets you have multiple licences. I just checked, number of activations permitted-

UVI = 3
Eventide =2
Soundtoys =2
XLS-lab =2
AKAI = 2
SoniVox =2
AIR = 2

The only one I have that only gives 1 activation is EastWest Libraries (PLAY) which is a GB HD anyway so never needed to be 'portable'!

Obviusly it is up to you how many licences you grant, but similar synths (Serum, Thorn etc) don't use iLok at all and multiple machines is easier with just a serial number. There are a lot of great wavetable based sysnths outr at the moment and some are very good and modestly priced (like Thorn) so I think a more generous licence policy may help, but thats just my thoughts.

Good Luck with this, even though its a very competitive market place there can never be too much choice and I hope you do well.

Ok thanks for sharing! Very informative.

Just dived into our serials backend and tweaked the entire code batch - Audiaire is now a member of the 2 club.

2 redemptions for each code issued.

I haven't acted on batches of already issued serial codes in case of screwing them up (on a Saturday with no PACE technical support to fall back on!) but am happy to attempt to amend those on a case by case basis if any users wish to email support@audiaire.com with their serial.

There is no option to allow for more than one redemption of the demo (is this even useful!?)

Now to amend our FAQs :)

@zvenx - hopefully this answers your question?

Post

Yes it does thanks.
There is a manual way to reissue demos, as I have gotten them from ilok protected developers software in the past. I have no idea how to though, and I imagine if you just launched you are a bit away from that issue :).
Thanks,

OK thanks. I just tried it on my Windows 10 laptop and it loaded up OK. I will report the other issue to the support people you mentioned.

Not going to need this, so won't add to the work load but in the future should i need a second activation wilt be ok to do it then or should i just get it done now?

No problem, you only need 1 demo licence, I have it running now and just playing with it- very nice. My only other suggestion would be to make that scaling knob a bit more obvious, I haver seen a few comments around about it not being resalable because people are not reading the manual and missing it being on the main GUI (convention with most dev's being to put it in options); when you start in 4K its quite hard to see, fortunately I had already seen a post on were it was! Anyway- works a treat and looks great at 150 on my 4K :tu:
