See if there is a local Inventor Council in your area.

I worked in R&D/manufacturing for 7 years and though it was a different industry (frozen desserts) you're just plain wrong here. Good ideas help in this context but commercial production won't happen without solid technical implementation. It's a challenge to maintain systems to ensure consistent quality and a safe, durable product.fluffy_little_something wrote: Thu Sep 27, 2018 5:02 pm To the contrary, good ideas are the key, technical implementation is easy, just a matter of resources, especially money. But without ideas there is nothing to implement in the first place.
I think the advice in the DSP forum for people with plugin ideas applies here:
README - for non-programmers with great ideas

Do you know how to reach them? They consider every mail from a user being from someone stupid... Even if I write them!
Tried to convince them to turn the nano series into a blasting fun toy...; - )

No, my idea would be easy for Korg, Roland etc. to develop and manufacture. They could rely completely on their existing know-how.Winstontaneous wrote: Sat Sep 29, 2018 8:36 amI worked in R&D/manufacturing for 7 years and though it was a different industry (frozen desserts) you're just plain wrong here. Programming is another story. There are very few programmers with the necessary music and physics background. Mechanical and electrical engineering is simpler than programming a synth. Luckily my idea does not involve programming and software.

is this gonna be "quantum computer powered ai robot synth sound designers"?
they said they already have those.

it's reverb that echoes up and down

Hehe, I actually had a similar idea years ago because I was wondering why there was no plugin for placing sounds anywhere from the bottom to the top, instead of the usual left-right and near-far. After all, the human ear can detect whether a sounds comes from above or below or the same level...

I once had all my echoes going up and down...then I woke up and lifted my head off the mixing boardfluffy_little_something wrote: Sat Sep 29, 2018 9:47 pm Hehe, I actually had a similar idea years ago because I was wondering why there was no plugin for placing sounds anywhere from the bottom to the top, instead of the usual left-right and near-far. How much personal experience do you have regarding any engineering? I learned both and consider programming easier...fluffy_little_something wrote: Sat Sep 29, 2018 9:01 pmNo, my idea would be easy for Korg, Roland etc. to develop and manufacture. Your idea just as idea is of no value. The existing know-how a company can rely on has the greatest value. And you would still have to invest to bring a product to a market.
If you are a well known artist, one of those companies might make a signature product, to endorse their brand. In your case you want to be endorsed by them. I doubt you will be able to pay for it...
Whoever will steal your idea would do you a favor, not the other way round...

So, which well-known synths or effects have you written the code for?
There is a reason why it has taken the leading software synth companies years or decades even to get to their current level. That kind of expertise is not necessary in mechanical engineering, for which there are also lots of powerful tools out there, unlike for music software programming, which is a very small, specialized niche.
Stealing from someone never does the victim a favor. It's as simple as that. Stealing implies wrongful, illegal doing.
And I stick to my opinion that the idea is the alpha and omega of every product.
