Use a VST synth... bounce to audio... delete the synth, use another... repeat

Yeah, with that mindset gonna just use old DAW and do workarounds for every Bitwig feature I like, score.

Live Lite doesn't include a single synth with it... Bitwig 8-track does... and of course Live doesn't even have an LFOscalawag wrote: Mon Oct 01, 2018 5:55 pm Ableton Live Lite had a 4 VST limitation on Live Lite 8 (and previous versions)..... almost 6 years ago!!!! They removed that limitation when they released Live Lite 9.
Bitwig 8-Track has a 2 VST limitation in 2018!!!
They both have a 8 track limitation, which is fine. It's the VST limitation that is a joke IMHO
And you can work around the VST limit by bouncing.

forget it...Zexila wrote: Mon Oct 01, 2018 5:58 pm I know, I keep repeating same thing, but fanbois just don't care what you are saying, so we go in circles with same arguments, nobody mentioned track count, but still, yeah, it's their only argument.

As far as I can see in a little google search,
there are no current Bitwig 8-Track hardware bundles,
and Beat Magazine consider it unethical to access
the 8-Track download without purchasing the related magazine.
So the new release does not seem to be
designed as a huge moneymaker, but a benefit
to existing license holders, some of which may
choose to upgrade after using the significant
new capabilities. Which is the aim of many
light version products.
There are many musicians who don't need,
and wouldn't ever purchase in the $400+ price range.
So it's no loss to full-version DAW sales if some people
are happy using the light versions.
I personally think there are several product opportunities
Bitwig could develope mainly from existing code,
but I'm an outsider, not privvy to the accounts
or personal desires of the team. It's great fun
to load stix or ezd in 8-Track, and run the guitar or a Zebra
through the Bitwig effects rack. And now there's an hour
of Sampler videos waiting to be studied.
Cheers

They freely updated my Ableton Live Lite 9 to version 10 for free as we speak!
Usually they don't freely update Lite versions.
And no, i'm not a fanboy. I use Tracktion Wavefrom 9, but would like to test Bitwig without the VST limitation.

Never said you are, little sick of the "everything is great, here's workaround" mantra that is present whenever anyone have any remark about beloved software, we both found VST limitation little too much, but folks who are rocking full version and other DAW's are fine with it, yeah, whatever, shut us up, it's awesome, nobody needs more than 2 VST's in a project, 8 track is ultimate inspirational experience, who needs full Bitwig anyways.scalawag wrote: Mon Oct 01, 2018 6:40 pm And no, i'm not a fanboy. You can 'test' the full version of Bitwig. Just download the full version and demo it, you can fully test it, just not save (which is fine if you are only demoing)- It should be really easy to see if you prefer Live or Bitwig, they are very different now!scalawag wrote: Mon Oct 01, 2018 6:40 pm They freely updated my Ableton Live Lite 9 to version 10 for free as we speak!

'lite' versions of anything are just free/bundled/cheap gateway drugs to get people a discount for the full version....its a total waste of time trying to test on a lite version, test on the real thing!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

In the USA, there is a tradition of 'part-time jobs',Zexila wrote: Mon Oct 01, 2018 6:30 pm Will do, this place is utter fanboi land, no devs even visit.
people often utilize their pent-up energies by working
more hours so they can buy something special, or save
up for a down payment on a home, or start
a new business, during the hours that
couch potatoes moan away while
watching the world go by.
The devs know more about their products
and business model than the users, and don't
need to 'visit', as they have reliable spies...
