I read from a developer once that, in order to get all people satisfied, and well informed on Facebook, Twitter, and forums, he would have to employ someone full time. Considering that Synapse-Audio merely consists of a handful of people (to my knowledge), i think, instead of working 12-14 hours a day to develop their software, AND be present in forums all day long, they should rather concentrate on their daily business. I think forum or social media presence is pretty overrated anyway. Yes, it's nice to be able to communicate one to one with developers, but, it is in no way a must for me, to enjoy their products. In fact, i feel it's pretty silly how some developers (no name and shame) are iconized for their presence here. Up to the point where people even speak for them, and tell others that those poor, poor souls shall not be hassled, because they iz pretty bizy.Ghost Dog wrote: I'm kinda bummed when it comes to my two favourite soft synths: one of them (that would be Sylenth1) is kinda limited in terms of options and not that well optimized in terms of CPU usage (at least compared to the other one), and the other one (DUNE), has an interface that is somewhat idiosyncratic in some regards, and is developed by people who are, while being pretty capable in terms of developing the actual software code, pretty obtuse when it comes to public relations (at least that was my experience with them).
DUNE 2 is out now!!

Don't worry, I'm able to appreciate both sides of the argument.chk071 wrote:I read from a developer once that, in order to get all people satisfied, and well informed on Facebook, Twitter, and forums, he would have to employ someone full time. Nevertheless, what I mentioned before, both today and couple of months ago, is my personal take on the subject and i stand behind everything i wrote.
Edit:
And why DON'T they employ someone full time? Regardless of everything, I hope they're doing well enough financially to be able to afford it.

I think Synapse Audio are just two people, AFAIK so don’t quote me on it. Rich himself is usually very active on the forums as far as I’m aware. And he does reply to emails or forum pm’s.Ghost Dog wrote:Don't worry, I'm able to appreciate both sides of the argument.chk071 wrote:I read from a developer once that, in order to get all people satisfied, and well informed on Facebook, Twitter, and forums, he would have to employ someone full time. It is not always realistic in a small business to hire someone full time to do Social media stuff. There are big companies out there with full time support staff whereby you may have to wait days to get support.

Isn't it a VST of Dune 2?AnX wrote:For reason users....v1o wrote:Dune 2 and Antidote are on sale now as a bundle! Such an amazing offer.

It does say:
Dune 2
Synapse Audio
VST
Virtual Analog
It would be worth it to buy (even if you don't have Reason) just to get Dune 2, as it is $169 normally.

Yeah, but, to buy in the PH shop, i think you need a license of a Reason version which can run the RE, in this case Antidote, to buy the bundle. At least that's how it is when you buy a RE alone. It checks for your Reason version when you buy, to make sure you can run the RE.Examigan wrote:Isn't it a VST of Dune 2?AnX wrote:For reason users....v1o wrote:Dune 2 and Antidote are on sale now as a bundle! It's the VST version of Dune 2. Will work in any DAW. And its currently the cheapest way to buy Dune 2.AnX wrote:For reason users....v1o wrote:Dune 2 and Antidote are on sale now as a bundle! Such an amazing offer.

That's what it says for me, when i log into my Propellerhead account, and try to buy the bundle. Like i mentioned above, you obviously need a Reason version, which can run Antidote RE. Version 8+ i figure, not sure. Please update your account before purchase
Dune 2 and Antidote Synth Bundle requires another version of Reason, Reason Essentials or ReCycle than what you currently have registered to your Propellerhead user account.

This is a bloody good offer! That is if you have any kind of Reason!
It worth buying the intro edition for this alone
Dune 2 has more features of course but Antidote is a pleasure to program with its one page (almost) GUI
The sound quality is similar though. That makes Antidote more usable for me especially for the bread and butter sounds.
When I'm not in Reason, Dune 2 is from my favourite synths together with NI Massive. I'm trying to get used for the awkward workflow in Dune and ignore the 'sigh' and concentrate patiently on sound. It reminds me of some programming languages, like Perl, that are written only languages. You program the sound in Dune and then forget about it because it's a pain to come to it after time and understand what you did exactly!
Time for a pen and paper it seems

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I'm interested in Dune 2, but do not need Antidote.
I would buy Dune 2 for $ 50. If someone will buy a bundle.
