Any interest in good samples of a bad guitar?

Thanks! Kind of surprisingly, releasing this guitar's caused a measurable boost in the downloads of our free stuff, from about 200 per day to over 300.

Last week of the intro price, then it goes up to $39 on October 1st!
It's also getting reviewed in a Polish print magazine dedicated to audio technology, so in general there's a lot more interest in this thing than I was expecting. Still looking for the matching bass - found one, but the neck looks warped enough to use for ski jumps, and I want to be able to record samples on every fret.

Last day to get it at $19! Also, we've sold more than 100 now, and while the matching bass search goes on, I might be able to buy a really weird Polish drum kit from the 60s next weekend - a friend is touring in the city where the guy who has it for sale lives.

Hey, congratulations! What's the magazine? Has it been reviewed positively?

Estrada i Studio - they liked it. The reviewer seems old enough to remember when people played those guitars cause, like Guy Clark's "Black Diamond Strings", "it's all you can get", and quite happy that sampling makes all the playabililty, tuning and practicality problems go away but the tone remains the same. He also owns some 60s Japanese guitars which we might sample someday, bringing this thread full circle.

And an update to the above - they liked it so much they asked for a feature-limited version to include with their November issue. The limitated EiS version is basically the 6-string electric and simple electric - no acoustic, 12-string or Nashville tuning versions, but otherwise fully functional, and still over 3000 samples and 1 GB, plus a link to a discounted purchase with payment in Polish currency.
https://estradaistudio.pl/magazyn/30445-listopad-2018 to buy the issue for 9.90 PLN (about $2.50), if anybody's interested. But if you just want the discount on the full version and aren't Polish, PM me and we'll figure something out that won't involve Paypal making money off exchange rates...

Let's see what happens if we do a sale for a few days. Secret Agent Guitar is just $14 until December 6th, and so are Swirly Drums, while Frankensnare is at the $9 intro price until then.

The search for the matching bass continues - another one popped up for sale, with a headstock break. But in the meantime, the guitar got used in this track:

It makes a HUGE difference in the vibe and feel when it shows up, doesn't it?

Matching bass acquired, and is now in working order! Got a friend to play it for a short vid:
Now to sample that thing, and spend a few months editing those samples.
Also, this month, the guitar is on sale for $19.

Nice!
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

A bit of news... a Polish netlabel is doing a creative commons compilation of music using Defil instruments. I asked the guy running it and he said sampled Defils are OK, so if you got something that uses Secret Agent Guitar, or can have something by November 11th, there are English rules here: http://defil4.bonimedia.pl
The Secret Agent Bass has been recorded for a few months and I'm slowly working through the backlog of already-recorded instruments... it'll get done someday.

Finally got around to editing the bass samples recorded in March and April... it's gonna be almost 6 GB. Perhaps excessive detail for something so cheap, but that's the whole idea here.
And while we're here, the guitar's on sale for Black Friday, along with most of our other commercial samples. Secret Agent Guitar, Big Rusty Drums and Unruly Drums $19 each, Vengeful Cello and Hadziha $29 each, Hadziha $9. Link in signature.
