Always interested in what you've got to say Burillo, thanks for all the posts!

I do agree with Burillo that Mercuriall doesn't sound THAT much better than the competition (especially not if you factor in their pricing by comparison of what I consider are just as great or even better ampsims). The competition is really stiff, and indeed Thermionik, S-Gear, Kuassa and Ignite Amps are at the very least are at the same level of modeling quality, even if they're using completely different approaches.

Thermionik is particually very good value at 49 bucks for 30 amp models with convolution speaker emulation plugin and 5 overdrive pedal models....it realy is a very competitive market (maybe that's why NI never bother to update Guitar Rig, that used to be my go to many years ago). I tried the Helix demo (twice) and to my ears I really count hear alot of diference in 'quality' between that (*at 300 bucks) and the Mercuriall et al...but its all personal taste!

The difference for me is that the SS-11X has a sound, and I like that sound (I nearly bought the hardware once), so for me, its worth having....if you want the SS-11X sound, its great!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Agreed, these days it's not so much about the quality of emulation (although obviously there are some differences), but how much you like the amp they emulated. And often it's not even about the amp model in general, it's about the specific unit they had on hand to compare against. Case in point: I was a Thermionik user for the longest time (Serpent is lovely for everything from clean to high gain), but just a few days ago fell in love with ReAxis and it immediately became my go-to amp plugin. But I'm sure if Kazrog modeled TriAxis, I would have fallen just as hard. :D

It's not nice to imply that their 5 years R&D effort is not better than the competition :hihi:

Just wanted to report that presets don't save in Ableton Live.

And A4 Fender2 is very good....especially mixing up cabs

I'm playing with the demo and even if I have a lot of amp sims, I really like SS-11X clean sounds. I probably won't buy it though as long as the presets bug is not fixed for VST3 users.

BTW: I'd like to have more tools integrated like a tuner and metronome. We all have this kind of tools in our daws but I find it more convenient to use only one plugin. Am I the only one?

Clean and Crunch sounds are top notch and best ones for me at the monent leaving S-Gear somewhere behind.
Speaking of built-in tuner - I don’t think that nice and clean interface will benefit from any additional element (such as tuner - which will be average anyway). Also I don’t think that any plu-in will implement anything on the level of TCE Polytune or Ircam Labs The Snail (my favorite).

tuner is always welcome, metronome if it can be hidden
metronome needs to be capable of odd times, and combinations of different measures: 3*(4/4) + 1*(7/8) + ... +repeat

Hi!
Sorry to hear about that. Are you using vst2 or vst3 plugin?

Hi!

1. Presets in VST3 - unlikely to be fixed in near future. The tool that we use to create plugins has exactly that issue on a development level... =( Lots of comments from developers, but no fix on horizon, from what I understand. Presets work fine in VST2, though.
2. Tuner - we'd love to do it properly. I hope to see it in our plugins one day!
Metronome - unlikely at the moment. When we think about doing standalone versions, then it will make much more sense.

vst2. Using the save with project and the ableton live save menu result in the same: reset to default on reload. Hope it gets sorted out, I like the plugin a lot. -thanks

Just double checking - it's not a beta version, correct?

I don't think it's beta. It's 1.0.6 on the info screen.
I'm using the newest Live intro version.
