You could set a unison voice for doing that.
Example: 2 voices, unison 2 voices
Mod source unison uni +1:
Set with the unison mod source to the pitch of osc 1 : -12st
Adjust the volume of the osc unison voice, with the mod source uni+1,
And set the unison voices vol of the other oscillators at 0, if you don't need them.

Interesting hint, but i forgot to mentioned i need a square wave suboscillator. And the main oscillator is in the most cases a saw wave....

Is there a reason not to just use one of the other two oscillators? 75% waveshape in Saw mode will give you something very very close to a square wave.

Yes, use another osc or with the uni+1, change the waveform. Unison can be view like additive oscillators, filters, env, lfo..... it's one of the reasons why Cypher2 is incredible.

Yes, phase cancellation.

I was a little bit wondering, because Strobe has one. So, Cypher is quite complex, at least it was possible, that i didn't see the sub oscillator or audio divider option....

Post

You could switch phase-reset on for each & that would solve that - or use hardsync (sync the higher pitched osc to the lower one) to prevent them drifting..

Well, that's not same. For bass sounds it's fine, but not when playing polyphonic sounds.
An audio divider would be the right choice....

It's no big deal at all, Cypher is not my only synth.

Post

Hard Sync is similar, but again not the same. It's also not possible to control the volume of each oscillator.

Thank you anyway Angus....

Just wanted to mention that I demoed cypher for a while and it caused freezes/hangups in bitwig. I wasn’t able to delete the plugin from a track and eventually (after the whole program was unresponsive for minutes) received an error about not being able to save the plugin state. Overall it was troublesome. This was windows 10.

Every synth that has voice count as mod source is able to do that ,
Dune , reaktor , tyrell etc..even strob and cypher 1
Well... m-kay then...not every synth

Unless I'm much mistaken, hardsync *is* equivalent to sub if (and only if) the sync destination's frequency is an exact multiple of the source.

So for example with Osc1 at -2 octaves, Osc2 at 0 octaves, 2 synced to 1, you will get the same timbre as if Osc1 were a sub-oscillator of 2.

@Echoes was that 2.4.8.0 or 2.4.9.0? If you can DM me your system info (particularly processor and graphics card) I can take a look.

Yes, using phase reset (or hard sync) sounds literally the same as using a frequency divider for a sub osc, only with more control.

Whatever the demo download was about a week ago. Currently changing systems but I’ll send my info.
