This soft synth by Björn Arlt and Wolfgang Kraus is indeed a
"musical" synthesizer.
The x64-version loads fine in Reaper - and you can choose any
sound on a 2-dimensional area. That is very easy and very fast.
I like most all kinds of string-sounds and these are transparent
and clean but not really "fat".
The menu-system is nice, the dll has only 650 kb and the cpu-load
is very low! That is important for me since I don't want to clutter
my system with huge files or cpu-hogs.
This is a very "fast" synthesizer in the aspect of looking for a new
sound - good for drafting ideas and quick solutions.

Hear, hear! Huge files (except for sample libraries) should be a no-no. Less than 1 MB is very commendable.enroe wrote: the dll has only 650 kb and the cpu-load

The more I play with this synth, the more I like it! It's very much DM 1984ish... but then again, if I set my pluck sound to Wood, it turns into Duran Duran's Save a Prayer...
This is actually a super versatile synth. I've made several patches for it in no time. It _is_ a bit limited (well obviously in terms of control, but I meant sound), but if used with other gear it works great. For example, I miss an arpeggio, but on the otherhand, I can fix an arp outside the synth.
My top pick in the competition!

Me too!
Their idea is fantastic - and the realisation works good! This synth is "musical"!

The gui approach has an elegant simplicity and intuitiveness. It's been fun moving the Ball Pad live and hearing the neat morphing results.

The tag for mps is now only 'synth'. Would be appropriate to change it to physical modelling synth? It's not emulating a particular instrument, but it does make realistic sounds, like Modelonia.
