The OPEN SOURCE MUSIC FM SYNTHESIZER CHALLENGE

What:
Install one or several of the Open Source FM Synthesizers we selected, make an awesome track using only these synthesizers as sound sources, upload it to archive.org under a Creative Commons license and submit it into the competition.
When:
The competition starts on September 15th, 2018 and runs for one month until the end of October 14th, 2018.
Who:
Everybody (i.e. every natural person) can enter the competition. All selected synthesizers are Free Software and getting started with music production using Open Source software is easy and free to everyone!
Winning:
The winner of the competition is selected by public vote.
Voting starts on October 15th, 2018 and is open for ten days. The entry receiving the most points wins and will be presented at the second Sonoj Convention in Cologne on the weekend of October 27th/28th. Second and third places will be awarded as well.
The winners will only receive fame and glory, but the community as a whole also wins!

What:

there are only less than eight days left in the Open Source Music FM Synthesizer Challenge to finish and submit your entry.

I encourage you all to submit your tracks as soon as possible even if they are not finished yet. Each submitted entry is first in draft status, until you publish it. Only then* will the track be publicly visible and really enter the competition. If it stays in draft status until the deadline, it does not enter the competition, so there's no harm in submitting your track now, even if you are not sure whether you will finish it in time. But you won't miss the deadline, just because there are technical difficulties or your upload to Archive.org doesn't pass the checks.
* I also need to approve it. I will basically just check the description and production notes for spam and conformance to the rules and usually approve it within minutes if everything is ok.
I'm looking forward to hear what you came up with!

ILIO Hosts “Name That Synth” Contest
Leading distributor of virtual instruments and audio processing software ILIO is hosting a contest that allows participants to win a Spectrasonics product of their choice (Omnisphere, Keyscape, Trilian, or Stylus RMX) or a $300 ILIO gift certificate, good toward any product on ILIO’s website (www.ilio.com). Participants are presented a collage of 16 snapshots of hardware synthesizer interfaces, and they are invited to correctly name all synths pictured. Of the correct entries, three winners will be selected at random to receive their choice of prize.
