Be thankful, that I didn't post what I think of today's announcement... It would be a lot more than 27 words in addition to this post, that's for sure.... and in case you didn't notice, I've not posted in over 24 hours here due to project stuff.EnochLight wrote: Wed Oct 24, 2018 9:33 pm Still trolling Reason threads, Scotty? I think most of the original Propellerhead founders have sold their shares. I think Ernst is only one left, so he may have needed the investment firm money in order to buy out his colleagues.
I think Props is in a more stable position than Ableton or Imagineline. Because the latter two have heavily pirated pieces of software. Whereas Reason has a small but loyal user base and the software cannot be pirated.

Ernst and Peter are still there. Marcus may or may not still sit on the BOD. Peter did the DSP behind Parsec. I don’t know about Europa, but I’m betting he had something to do with that as well.v1o wrote: Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:20 pm I think most of the original Propellerhead founders have sold their shares. This + the RE/Refill environment. Yes, I know there are VSTs now, I can't sell the REs, etc. but while in Reason I really like the integration - graphical & functional - better and the fact that I can install & upgrade all my 3rd party REs with one click is very convenient.v1o wrote: Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:20 pm I think most of the original Propellerhead founders have sold their shares. I really hope Props - or anyone who "owns" them if that ever happened - are committed and able to bring Reason to current DAW standards (high-res GPU-accelerated GUI, well performing VSTs incl. VST3/AU, track folders & freezing, MPE) because I could really see myself using it exclusively - I even summarised my thoughts here why it's the most inspiring of the DAWs I own: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic. ... 99#p408399

I’m using Reason more now than ever, and I’m just totally sick of using standard DAW’s for writing music in. Along with that, is that I’m buying more RE’s now than I had before Reason 9.5 was released.
Reason is such a unique piece of software than I seriously doubt it’s going anywhere anytime soon. If they were going to go under, it would have been back around Reason 7-9. 9.5 was a game changer for them.

Also, Europa is absolutely amazing and totally fun to program. So far, I’m using Europa WAY more than Serum.
I hope they “export” more of their synths to be used as VST’s on other platforms.
