Hmm, really can confirm similar issue in Ableton v9.7.7 (during adding byome to audiotrack, even after second instance for me, and even can't kill ableton process thru task manager), but all cloning without any problems in Studio One v3 (all 64bit, win7)chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 4:38 pmcan confirm same thing in fls 20.sacer wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 7:52 am I have problems with ableton win 64 bit. Can someone open 3 instances of byome in ableton 10.0.4 and then duplicate this track ? Ableton should hang and you have to close via taskmanager....

Haven't had that issue with Reaper but I have had some instabilities I haven't experienced before with other plugins. Not sure what causes it honestly. Have 4 BYOME VST's active in the project and take care to only have one visible at a time but I get occasional hick-ups and have had 2 straight up freezes. Wish I knew when they happened so I could make a more useful bug report =/chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 4:38 pm the 3rd instance of byome insta locks fls and i have to kill it with task manager...every time.
AFAIK, but correct me if I am wrong, you always need a form of account when buying a digital product. Be it Steam, be it Origin, Plugin Boutique or Plugin Alliance or heck even Amazon and Ebay. I don't see any issue in this. Yes bit annoying to keep track but on the other hand the companies need something to couple your codes to.chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:26 pm but...what the hell is up with this installer bs? i wont buy it just because of that.
1. have to make an account (why? i dont want an account unless i actually buy it)
2. have to install an "installation manager" or in real terms, a bs drm that will cause problems
Wouldn't call that a big deal, minor inconvenience.chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:26 pm 3. of course...it immediately causes problems. it crashes if you try to change the install directory by just changing the name in the box. all i wanted to do was to remove "\steinberg" from the path...nope...i had to browse to the location i wanted, make a new folder and then select the new folder from there.
Actually that is a really good sign. The installer shows what it is doing. That is transparency. Much better than a blind bar. You can actually pause/break to check what it is doing (if you want to).chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:26 pm 4. installer opens a cmd window with cryptic crap scrolling in it that appears to crash (it didnt crash)...never a good sign.
Ransomware checks from antivirus software are incredibly sensible. Unless you add your software to the library of the manufacturer of the antivirus odds are you are likely to trigger something.chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:26 pm 5. installation triggers ransomware warnings from my antivirus (yes yes...i know its a false positive...but still)
Really? Might as well steal a car. Less paperwork to fill in. Might as well not get a drivers license as well, too much of a hassle. It's just a weird attitude to have.chaosWyrM wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:26 pm what a shit show this installer is. its this kind of shoddy drm that drives people to piracy in the first place.
Now I must admit I don't find this particular installer really useful as it just installs, something you can do by opening a zipfile and dragging your files to the right folder. But on the other hand if you have multiple plugins from Plugin Alliance it is fairly useful in the sense that it shows you what plugins you own and you can mass install them.
Literally the only problem I have with the installation manager is that it doesn't update your plug-ins. It is a bit weird to "install" your plug-ins when you want to update them. Might want to take a queue from XLN's manager

im not gonna quote everything....
ugh....
no you dont have to have an account when buying any digital product...AND i didnt buy a digital product....i didnt buy anything.
"minor inconvenience" is subjective. the fact that its broken is not. thats nice for you that you dont care that the thing is broken...i do care.
no its not a good thing....its shoddy.
ransomware alerts are absolutely NOT commonplace. i dont know what you install on your system usually...but i never see them.
also i really dont care if you think my attitude is "weird", i think its weird of you to not care that a dev forces you to install buggy ass software that is of absolutely zero benefit to you....and is entirely useless to anyone....well except the people who sold that system to the dev in the first place...and guess what...that expense gets passed on to you. so not only are you using an inferior version of the software...but youre paying extra to do so....on top of actually being the one who paid for it at all.

Actually it’s PA who’s responsible for the installer. It’s part of their QA program. One of the services they take care of so Unfiltered Audio can spend more time making cool plugins instead of dealing with support issues directly. Although they do that a lot as they are good guys.

For me this will get interesting if/when it gets parallel routing and feedback paths implemented. Also an expanded/better gui would be nice. Currently it’s a chain of effects that are modulatable which at times has an awkward gui.

Yeah, that seems odd. You would think, in the least, the lookahead in the standard compressor shouldV0RT3X wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 2:13 am Anyone else amazed that this has no latency even when pushed to the extreme ?
produce some latency. Doesn't seem to though.

Agreed, that would be interesting. Not quite sure how I would use it but it looks like an obvious feature.RobGee wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 2:00 am For me this will get interesting if/when it gets parallel routing and feedback paths implemented.
Also agreed. The sideways scrolling gets annoying. I keep resizing the screen in the hope I get more real estate but sadly it just makes things biggerRobGee wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 2:00 am Also an expanded/better gui would be nice. 2 modulators I kind off miss (even in Sandman Pro I found these things that may be very useful) are:
1. Midi tracker: pulse out on "any midi" or dedicated midi / midi CC. Would be even more powerful if it could read midi from a different track. This would allow for sequencers that advance whenever a certain note is played or freeze buffers controlled by CC (input follow just doesn't seem responsive enough).
2. Delay. Yes you can fake this using a waveform that you retrigger or a sequencer and blabla but that seems like a lot of effort just for a delay. Simple signal in + signal out and a delay time would be way easier and cleaner and better to control.
Also as said before a data entry option would be nice as well. Maybe something like shift+click on a control to pop up a small data entry field?
