It plays 3rd fiddle to wavelab and soundforge.

You're thinking audio editing only. But I'm thinking multi-track audio recording.

Now I don't know too much about Wavelab. But I know that Soundforge has a lot of positive reviews & users in it favor.

Either way, it's good to know that a lot of people thinks Pro-Tools is overrated.
