I selected 88 samples from the Memory Collection sample pack 08 specially for Halloween. I think they are well suited for the occasion. It contains some that are also part of the MC 08 demo and others that are not.

Many are further trimmed, making it easier to use them as 1 shot-samples, for instance as a kit in a drum sampler. The trimmed version have a number or X in their names.

The full version of the Memory Collection 08 has over 3,000 samples taken 10 Public Domain Comedy movies, including 5 horror ones.

Also made 7 free BeatBox kits for Caustic 3 (Android, iOS, macOS, Win) with it. I first wanted to make 2 or 3 but I got carried away and made seven!

Is the audio also public domain in the United States? Does a movie being in public domain in the US make the sound from the movie public domain too, or is that considered a distinct "sound recording" for copyright purposes?

Thanks for your interest!
The sound is not considered a distinct "sound recording". But a movie can be PD and still contain some music that is not PD. For instance, in one of the earlier MC packs, one of them had some Gershwin songs that I did not use.

The Battery 3 version has the samples simply mapped in a kit. All the samples play for their entire length. Some samples are a bit long, so don't hesitate to use the volume enveloppe or to edit the samples and experiment with the various settings offered by each cell, like level, pan, tuning, envelopes, filters, etc.

The same applies for the Kontakt version except that here I have used the volume enveloppe on most of the longer samples so they stop playing when the key is released. Making it easier to fool around with them on a keyboard.

NOTE : the full version of the Memory Collection sample pack 08 - Horror Comedies does NOT
include any mappings or other mini kits like this one.
