if I keep this up, people will boycott ME! and I don't even sell anything!
I don't know g. you bore me, very badly. Maybe I AM part of the MTV generation... low attention span and all that
mean people really are pretty f**king useless, and I am starting to feel like one myself. I guess I am out. Tell ya what george, why don't you flame some more developers? I am looking for some really interesting and and innovative gear, and you seem to pick winners that way!

Hmpf, what the f**k are you folks on?
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Glad to see some of us still remember that incident. Those who're relatively new to this forum may not know it at all...spoonboiler wrote:![]()

And another post here :Aleksey Vaneev wrote:Some minor misinformation is here, probably? This plug-in applies non-linear (wave-shaping) kind of processing so it creates harmonics from all frequencies. Processing is done on two parts - above and below 2kHz. Above 2kHz it creates first order harmonic only, below 2k it generates a more complex harmonic content. By some means it amplificates harmonics in 10-18kHz range (which are created from the signal in 5-9k range, BTW). This plug-in is also subject to huge aliasing artifacts - this issue is probably not handled at all. It also looks like this plug-in definitely uses some block-based (FIR) processing as it generates non-causal response to the unity (Dirac) spike.
I may be wrong, but it was fun to guess how it works.
Feel free to join there and shed the light on the subject. I'm suprised Markus of Refx debates whether there's aliasing in the plug or not.Aleksey Vaneev wrote:Markus, please see here:
I've got this picture after processing 12kHz sinewave with your plug-in. This IS aliasing.

I Want to check it out using the tests which were preformed here and send it to ConcreteFX.
What software you guys used for the graphics output ?

< joke >
from user pov:
time to *freeze* your plugin collections, put it on CDR, and come back in a month or two to catch *non-aliasing* updates
< /joke >
< serious >
anybody figured out HOW EXACTLY does aliasing affect your mix if you do it OLD way: i.e. *forced* - exporting at 96k and then downsample/dither?
and more - if you use smex kt audiohealer somewhere in process.

96k export will result in ~2x oversampling over 44.1k (CD-A). It will get rid of some alias tho.mauseoleum wrote:anybody figured out HOW EXACTLY does aliasing affect your mix if you do it OLD way: i.e. *forced* - exporting at 96k and then downsample/dither?

ja, what about IN interaction with this (eg. on busses): http://www.koen.smartelectronix.com/KTAudioHealer/

From what I read, that effect will get rid of some aliasing indeed. Would be useful with samplers using linear, hermite and similar engines tho.mauseoleum wrote:ja, what about IN interaction with this (eg. on busses): http://www.koen.smartelectronix.com/KTAudioHealer/

thought so. it sure sounds sweeter, but also *under-hyped* or *de-excited*.
