For someone who doesn't like Waves, you sure are overusing their Doubler...

I must have dodged that bullet, as I was running v9 and v10 (singles only) in parallel until about a week ago. Seemed to work fine. Do the issues only occur if your WUP is expired?

I did hold out on upgrading to 10 for quite a while though, given that there seemed to be some (=major) teething problems. I bought a couple of plugins in the meantime, so they were installed as v10. Seeing as I wasn't having any issues with the v10 plugins after a few months, I switched everything over to v10, and that also went smoothly.

Anyway, I'm hoping that means all the kinks in the original v10 release have been ironed out.

The license manager isn't exactly idiot-proof is it? The UX could definitely be improved.

Classic missinterpretation.
As a Waves customer since 2003, and owner about 90 of their plugin licensies, I think that the conclusion "doesn't like Waves", is stupid.
Maybe in your world you don't criticise things you like.
My world is a bit more multidimensional.
Waves update policy, ver. 10 launch and some support stink.
Their ability to innovate and implement new things are great.
Most of their plugins I use, are excellent.

Jeez, it was obviously a joke. No need to call people stupid.

Even more so - the "joke" wasn't either fresh (see the thread) or good one.
And still I have a point in my comment not everybody seem to get.

Half of my Waves plugins were still V9. This week I bought an Upgrade to Waves Gold, The upgrade price was $99, since it was on sale also. And I had a Soundgrid survey voucher for 50% off upgrades.
So for $49 I now have at least 14 new plugins that I like to use (and some of Gold that I don't) and 12 of my V9 plugins are now V10 and wupped.
Besides; I use Waves plugins since 2011 and never wupped before.
I know most of Gold are older plugins; I like them for what they are; goto's for all kind of basic stuff with low CPU usage and good quality.

New V10 release with a lot of fixes and a Netflix Preset for WLM Plus (Eat this, Nugen Audio! :hihi:).
But most importantly:
Improved: Overall GUI responsiveness of all plugins.
I reinstalled V9 just to do a comparison and the change is quite noticeable. Up until now I didn't even notice, how jaggy the GUI response of the F6 for example could be. Moving EQ bands & adjustig the gain settings works and looks buttery smooth now

Didnt see any difference here between V9, previous v10 and updated v10

I bought a waves plug-in the other day and it installed a v9 and a v10 version. Clutter.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Paid to upgrade my v9 plugins to v10. Uninstalled and deactivated everything, then did a clean install of the v10 versions. They seem to activate and run fine, but in Ableton Live 10’s plugins list, I see three folders.

WaveShell1-10
WaveShell3-10
WaveShell4-10

... good luck knowing which plugins are in which of those folders. Have to search by name, which isn’t great because many of them are named things like named with various acronyms and things I “know it when I see it” but won’t remember when I have to CTRL+F search.

Reached out to Waves support... “multiple WaveShells is by design so there’s no workaround.” I’m unlikely to invest more in their products based on the lack of focus around user experience in this whole thread.

To reiterate an earlier point, this is the type of update other devs might sit on only to sell it to us with their next upgrade. It's also the type of change that Waves drip feeds to users who can freely update as long as they are running the latest version, v10 in this case.

Now, it might not be enough to warrant the upgrade fee to 10, or art might not be. Just wait until it's worth it. Presently, those that do have it, though, can possibly enjoy around another 5 years of free updates.

Their plugins all leverage a common DSP engine, thats what WavesShell is or links to. The multiple shells is so you can run older and new versions side by side without the plugins bugging out or crashing.

Ultimately Waves seems to end up updating everything to simplify the number of shells required. I think this just the transition phase for them.

I'm having Graphic issues with the latest version of V9.Windows Cubase 9.5.
I wonder if upgrading to v10 will fix this.Right 3rd of the GUI not legible.

It will be hard to be sure enough. A move to V10 will at least buy you WUP to go with it. At that point you can always take the issue to tech support. They are usually quite good.

Adversely, you can keep asking around online to see if anyone has share details your experiences. They may be able to help.

I’m assuming you’ve double checked your graphics and OpenGL/CL drivers??

Thanks I'll check those drivers.
