Here's the challenge: make a song, but you can't use MIDI. No virtual instruments. Loops or audio you record yourself.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

you mean use real instruments to record music?
as if anyone has ever done that!

Some people will probably cheat and use some of that electricity stuff.

Loops rather than MIDI. Yeah, sounds fascinating. Kind of kills the elitism of the whole notion, doesn't it.
;)

Yikes! 27 days to do it? I don't have the cash to hire people to execute my song. Okay execute is the wrong word. Play my song is what I mean. Where am I going to find session players in 27 days and with a budget of 80 bucks?
ah böwakawa poussé poussé

I haven't for over 20 yrs. It's all there was at one time, so... This as a 'challenge', meh... here's one: create music which sounds like real music in a room using _only_ MIDI and NO LOOPS. Do your own drum track with no quantization and no snap.

No-Forum November would be a much harder challenge.

Oops, I just lost.

i would join in movember but i haven't shaved since around 2014/mebbe15s movember.

I did used to play the drums to a fair standard many years ago when we used to have a kit set up in a mate's house. A couple of years ago, I bought one of those cheapy midi drum pad and pedals things and messed about with it for a bit. I thought, 'hmm, that's actually not too bad after not playing for about 10 years'. I played something I'd recorded to a friend who asked, "Did you throw it down the stairs or something".

i only realised last month kontakt had all kinds of drums with fills n stuff, rather than me programming robo fills
im not big on that whole "percussion" thing.
i like the sound of it, its just not for me.

Hence MIDI editing.

I once was called on to provided drums for this one song in a show where the fecking drummer in this shite group didn't have an inkling of what to do in the 6/8. I hadn't actually _played_ a drum kit in nearly 20 yrs. Oddly there was no problem but I wan't called upon to do very much.
