Is there any way to set an output and input within the chain?

I know, I should demo it, but time... sigh

You mean to split the signal coming from one module (or the BYOME input) and send it in parallel to 2+ other modules? No, that's not possible. It's strictly linear / serial, going left to right. That's my main "complaint" about this, especially since they decided to call it "modular" which would imply some kind of node-based routing.

Obviously, if you have a capable DAW - like Bitwig or Live - you can easily split the signal that you're feeding into BYOME into frequency bands, left/right, mid/side, etc. and work like that, but I still think it's a missed opportunity to not have this in out of the box. Hopefully this will change in future versions or expansions?

Still, at $91 (25$ voucher, $80 discount due to owning other UA plugins) I could not miss it and bought it today, if only for the easy workflow and quality of the processing.

Same here - I would actually be using BYOME in a more Modular fashion if it provided parallel and feedback routing. But the sound quality is excellent.

I also have issues with the interface. On a small laptop, it’s very cumbersome to horizontally scroll all the time.

Being a Surface Pro 4 user I agree, but two "solutions" to consider:
- the interface is scaleable - just grab the bottom-right corner and drag
- each effect and modulation cell can be collapsed to small vertical column, by double-clicking on cell's header (and I think all of them can be (un)collapsed with that "arrow-in-a-circle" button)

I'd say send them an e-mail and its likely the more requests like this they get, the sooner they'll implement it :)

people that have used it for a month, does it live up to the hype? I'm looking for something new & inspiring for experimental sound design

I guess that depends on the hype...Is it very good at inspiring and experimental sound design? Yes. Is it still a bit limited in terms of what you can do (no parallel paths, frequency/channel splits, feedback loops)? Yes. Are each of the modules the best sounding versions of each of these effects you'll own? Probably not, but they're good across the board. Does the workflow suck with the horizontal scrolling? Currently, yes. Do the 8 macro knobs suck in terms of automation parameters? My take is no; haven't needed more than 8 in practice, but they could definitely be expanded (macro buttons for on/off states, bipolar macro knobs, etc.). Is it cool as hell to be able to chain up multiple effect parameters and link them to things like step sequencers, input followers, LFO's? Yeah it is! In fact, that's really what sets this apart for me as my DAW doesn't do this (not easily anyway) and neither does my other Creative FX Chainer plugin (Patchwork).

Give it a demo if you haven't already and try it out for yourself. You'll be the only person that can decide if it's worht it for you.

Sterero-phased ocean waves processed by a custom BYOME preset which uses tuned resonators and many other things. Video starts dry.

Has it been a month already?

I still like it for the same reasons I liked it on day one. I've only used it in one recording, but the project I've been working on is a little atypical for me and I've also been busy with a lot of non-musical stuff. Still glad I bought it at any rate.

The process of getting the demo is ridiculous.

I have to say dude, your demo's are beautiful and the reason I bought BYOME. Thanks

I hope you release a bunch of your BYOME patches, I'd totally buy them and i'm sure i am not alone.
Me too, totally :tu:
Thanks a lot, guys! Much appreciated! I'm still working on a small bank of presets. I'm slowly getting there.

You mean the Installer? I don't mind it, as I also have their other plugins and this makes it easier to organise things.

However, it IS ridiculous that the Installer doesn't recognise what you already have installed and whether or not there are any updates available. This really needs fixing.

Agreed, but that is something we need to communicate to Plugin Alliance, not Unfiltered Audio ;)

Still enjoying BYOME. Definitely some features that would be nice to have as noted before but it is quite fun to play around with.

Can't find anything about it in the forum rules so I hope it is okay I link to my Instagram, but here is a noodle I am working on right now: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpVIipACGGa/

BYOME in a more subtle context.
