This is what I have in my notes so far:Feel free to send me any suggestion. I haven't started the v2.0 yet, but I plan to start soon.
- [General]
- Draggable modules
- Resizable window
- Oversample (per module?)
- VST3
- [Ring Mod]
- Sync Rate
- HighPass/LowPass with Pre/Post selector (?)
- Waveforms (sine, tri, square, ramp, rnd, ...)
- [Feedback]
- Time in ms (+ sync?)
- HighPass/LowPass with Pre/Post selector (?)
- LFO Waveforms (sine, tri, square, ramp, rnd, ...)

I especially like the convolution & granular idea for the Freeze module. Can't wait! And thanks for passing by and updating us.

That is great. Oversampling will hopefully make the sound somewhat smoother if needed. Right now Frostbite is on the harsh side ... ok, I get the "Frost" and the "bite" ... An extensive diffusion module would be great, covering delays and reverbs. Some parallel connections would be very helpful, at least one parallel line in addition to the serial connections.audiothing wrote: ↑Fri Nov 09, 2018 11:53 pm Hi guys, thanks for the kind words! Nice suggestions, Dreamvoid.
I like the Diffusion idea, as well as a parallel delay line

The only thing I think really is missing from your notes would be some sort of bit crushing/echo module or option so as you can get a long freeze then have echoes degrade with each repeat. That would sound horrifically beautiful.

Right now the algorithm is based mostly on convolution already, but it want to make it more versatile. One important thing to add would be a freeze button that freezes the input only when pressed (as opposed to costantly freezing as it is right now).Neon Breath wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 2:38 am Wow

Still very early ideas anyway, lots of testing to do

Oversampling is definitely important for the Ring Mod.dreamvoid wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 1:24 pm That is great. Oversampling will hopefully make the sound somewhat smoother if needed. Interesting idea about the parallel connection. Perhaps, instead of making the modules draggable, a routing page/section would be more appropriate. I'll think about it. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hmm, although 8bit/chiptune oriented, that's already covered by our miniVerb.

How about an lfo/ramp modulator for each ringmod frequency and ringmod amount?
(Basically, my idea would be to add two little knobs and two switches below each of these two parameters: The first switch would change between "1-shot" (ramp) and "cycle" (lfo), the second would switch the waveform. The first little knob would be the mod amount from -100 to +100. The second knob would change the speed, only change between synced note values from 1/32 to 32).

I think that might be overkill. While it could be cool indeed, I think AudioThing likes to keep his plugs simple and with Minverb already covering the bitcrush & lofi delay/reverb department, it seems rather unnecessary for Frostbite. Just my two cents.
