I think I might have overlooked Valhalla Plate, especially for ambient guitar purposes. I love Vintage Verb, but Plate is so beautifully dense and detailed. The low frequencies are a bit boomy, but that can be rectified easily with the "LowGain" knob. Vintage Verb has more of a distant, far-away quality similar to Eventide Blackhole, which is lovely, but sometimes I want that rich, warm blanket of sound that's a bit more up close and personal. Most plate algorithms I've tried produce ugly metallic artifacts, so I was pleasantly surprised when I cranked Plate to 30 seconds and didn't hear anything like that. The "Wide" knob is a big plus, and if you crank the "Size" up to 200%, the reverb becomes so huge it's almost imperceivable as a reverb, and is more "felt" than heard.

Theses are entirely created with B2 and Kaleidoscope. Nothing else was used (except eq and basic compression). There are other examples there too.

Aether is great too but B2 goes even farther into this area. Max size in B2 is 625 meters!! This gets into sparse multi -tap delay reverb hybrid territory that is amazing for ambient uses.

Fab stuff, thanks for posting your thoughts. Plate is probably my least used Valhalla verb, but reading this has got me all aching to try it out again!

Reverberate 2 is very powerful for Ambient reverbs due to its unique design.

I am working on creating some Impulse Responses for it that combine many of its very cool features.
Here is one of the Ambient presets that combine these non-linear Impulse Responses.
There are no synths in this recording, just 1 guitar, the rest is a specialty reverb that follows the guitars pitch for a tuned reverb space:

Here is something very unique to ambient reverb...

No synths or other instruments are used, just "Sculpted Space" (special Impulse Response library) and a single guitar.

This particular fx has the quality of a choir vocoded with synths.
